VIII. MAIN BODY:

Luke 11:27-28 (Amplified Bible)

Now it occurred that as He was saying these things, a certain woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, Blessed (happy and to be envied) is the womb that bore You and the breasts that You sucked!

But He said, Blessed (happy and to be envied) rather are those who hear the Word of God and obey and practice it!

Luke 11:27-28 (King James Version)

And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.

But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

A. People call blessed the mother that nursed the LORD in the womb.

"And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked."

Luke 1:28 (Amplified Bible)

And he came to her and said, Hail, O favored one [endued with grace]! The Lord is with you! Blessed (favored of God) are you before all other women!

Luke 1:42 (Amplified Bible)

And she cried out with a loud cry, and then exclaimed, Blessed (favored of God) above all other women are you! And blessed (favored of God) is the Fruit of your womb!

Luke 1:48 (Amplified Bible)

For He has looked upon the low station and humiliation of His handmaiden. For behold, from now on all generations [of all ages] will call me blessed and declare me happy and to be envied!

ILLUSTRATION: Only the angel and Elizabeth called Mary, the mother of JESUS as blessed but not JESUS. To whom we will believe? the LORD JESUS CHRIST of course.

People call those things they don't understand as blessed but would rather be a watcher but not a participator.

Some biblical facts about the miracles of GOD in connection with practicing it:

1. People will only follow if it benefits them physically.

John 6:26-27 (Amplified Bible)

Jesus answered them, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, you have been searching for Me, not because you saw the miracles and signs but because you were fed with the loaves and were filled and satisfied.

Stop toiling and doing and producing for the food that perishes and decomposes [in the using], but strive and work and produce rather for the [lasting] food which endures [continually] unto life eternal; the Son of Man will give (furnish) you that, for God the Father has authorized and certified Him and put His seal of endorsement upon Him.

2. The LORD JESUS CHRIST will not trust these type of people who are after only miracles.

John 2:23-24 (Amplified Bible)

But when He was in Jerusalem during the Passover Feast, many believed in His name [identified themselves with His party] after seeing His signs (wonders, miracles) which He was doing.

But Jesus [for His part] did not trust Himself to them, because He knew all [men];

3. People will keep doing their own sin after they saw miracles

Acts 8:13 (Amplified Bible)

Even Simon himself believed [he adhered to, trusted in, and relied on the teaching of Philip], and after being baptized, devoted himself constantly to him. And seeing signs and miracles of great power which were being performed, he was utterly amazed.

4. There must be preaching of the WORD first and it will be accompanied by signs, wonders and miracles not the other way around.
