Message #6: BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS

Matthew 5:9

I. OUR REPUTATION IS AT STAKE (You shall be called the sons of God)

A. Who we belong to-identified as a part of GOD’S family! See John 1:12 & 13:35

B. How we behave-sons = huios-mature son; See Romans 8:14. Illustrated in Mat. 5:43-48

II. OUR RESPONSIBILITY IS SPELLED OUT (Be a peacemaker)

See the peace verses below. Our responsibility to be peacemakers is clearly defined in the Word of God. We must pursue this with all of our hearts. Heb. 12:14 makes it clear that along with having a pure heart, we must follow peace in order that we may see God.

Psa 34:14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

Psa 37:11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

Psa 37:37 Mark the perfect [man], and behold the upright: for the end of [that] man [is] peace.

Psa 119:165 Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
