This sermon explores how God's peace and grace can reach us even in our most troubled times, offering rest and blessings amidst life's storms.
Hey there, family! I'm so glad we're all gathered here today, ready to open our hearts to God's word and what He's got to tell us. We're going to talk about the peace that God brings, the solace we find in our troubled lives, and how we're blessed all around, even when it doesn't feel like it.
I want to share a quote with you by a respected Christian author, Philip Yancey, who once said, "Grace, like water, flows to the lowest part." And isn't that just like our God? To reach down into the lowest, most troubled parts of our lives with His grace and peace.
Now, let's turn our attention to the Good Book. Our Scripture for today is from 2 Chronicles 20:30, which reads, "And the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet, for his God gave him rest all around." Isn't that a comforting thought? That our God can give us rest all around, even in the midst of our storms.
Before we start, let's bow our heads in prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for this day, for Your grace, and for the peace that You offer us. As we reflect on Your word today, we ask that You open our hearts and minds to understand and apply Your teachings in our lives. Help us to find rest in You, and to be aware of the blessings You've placed all around us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
In the midst of life's storms, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. The winds of worry whip around us, the rains of regret pour down, and the thunder of trials seems to shake us to our core. Yet, in the midst of all this, there's a promise. A promise that comes from the very heart of God Himself. A promise that, no matter how fierce the storm, there's a peace that can calm it. A peace that can quiet the winds, still the rains, and silence the thunder.
This peace isn't something we can manufacture on our own. It's not something we can find in the world around us. It's not something that comes from having the right circumstances, the right relationships, or even the right mindset. No, this peace comes from God and God alone. It's a divine peace, a heavenly peace. A peace that surpasses all understanding.
In the Scripture we read today, we see this peace in action. Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, was surrounded by enemies on all sides. He was in the midst of a storm. Yet, the Scripture tells us that his realm was quiet, for his God gave him rest all around. This wasn't a physical rest. It wasn't a rest from work or a rest from responsibilities. It was a rest from worry, a rest from fear, a rest from the storm. It was a peace that came from God.
In the realm of Jehoshaphat, we find a kingdom that was quiet, where God gave rest all around ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
