Bible’s 9-11
Part 3
From the previous part of this sermon, The Bible revealed to us that the caused of all this problems is the Devil himself (Rev. 9:11). BUT, we have God’s promise that: "... in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28.
THE BIGGEST QUESTION, "WHAT MUST WE DO?"
1. Make or renew our covenant with God
Genesis 9:11
Deuteronomy 9:11
Joshua 9:11
Our relationship with God is a relationship, which based on covenant. First thing first, we must “work out” our relationship with God. Why God let this horrible event happened, there must be something He wanted us to do or to know!
2. Bring Sin’s offering
Lev. 9:7-11
Let us be Daniel, or Nehemiah, or Ezekiel, or Jeremiah, or Joel in the last days. They were God’s servant who identified they self with their nation iniquities and transgression. Let us bring our “Perfect Sin’s Offering”, Jesus Christ, to this wounded nation. Don’t put Jesus in the “church-prison”; let His Holy Name be glorified by all nations. Including, Iraq and all the Moslem nations!
3. Live in Holiness
Numbers 9:11
Let the world see Christ in us, not by our speech, but by our life-style! Love speaks louder than our voice!
4. Don’t live in Pride
Judge 9:11
I lived in the nation with largest Moslem population, Indonesia. And one of so many caused why some Moslems “hate” us because of the attitude in some Christian people. Most of us still think that Christianity is an “elite people” who doesn’t mingle with “a second class people”. I personally can’t deny God’s blessing to us so abundantly, more than other people who not know and seek Him truly. I can’t deny that we are “First class people” in God’s Kingdom. But all of this must not make us live in pride; we must help them to have the same blessing like we did. We must bring them to Christ, The Source of All Blessing!
5. Bring “Mephibosheth”
2 Sam 9:11, “Then Ziba said to the king, "Your servant will do whatever my lord the king commands his servant to do." So Mephibosheth ate at David’s table like one of the king’s sons.”
We are Ziba. God is David. Every hurting, wounded, desperate and crippled people are Mephibosheth. Bring them to God’s own table! Let them be His own son and daughter like we are His.
6. Seek for God’s prophet
1 Sam 9:11
Amos said that God will not do anything without saying something to His prophet. Apostle C. (Emmanuelle C.) said God told him 10 days before 9-11 about terror, which will happen. We must open our ears more to God’s prophet. 2 Chronicles 20:20, "Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the LORD your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful."
7. Look at Jesus
John 9:11,12, 37-39
2 Chronicle 20:12, “O our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you.” Isn’t this amazing? We are in the same condition with Israel in the past. We all don’t know what to do, BUT GOD”S PEOPLE WILL SET THEIR EYES UPON LORD JESUS!
Song:
Turn your eyes upon Jesus; look full in His wonderful face;
AND THE THINGS OF EARTH WILL GROW STRANGELY DIM
(It will be the same with all our trouble, heartache, and tears. All will be gone in His face)
In the light of His Glory and Grace!
8. Compassion and Mercy Towards Others
2 Corinthians 9:11
This might not the best time in the history, but this might be the best time to exercise Jesus’ compassion and mercy to other people. This MUST be the best time for His church to stand up from church comfortable chairs, and step out from the church building, and begin to give out Christ’s love!
This must be the time for God to sweep the world with His Glory and Grace! This must be the best time of Harvest! This must be the best time for you and me to fulfill God’s promise that “every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!”
