Summary: Every promise of God is yes and amen to those who believe it and go for it.

Ex 1:13-16, 3:7,

"Better To Die In The Land of Promise, Than to Live In The Land of Despair!"

Num 14:3 "Why has the LORD brought us to this land to fall by the sword, that our wives and children should become victims? Would it not be better for us to return to Egypt?"

4 So they said to one another, "Let us select a leader and return to Egypt." (NKJ)

I. People will adapt.

A. People will adapt to hardship.

1. The children of Israel adapted to bondage.

2. Their life became bitter and hard, but it was

what they were used to.

3. They would rather stay in the familiar.

B. People today also adapt to what is normal for them.

1. People who are sick a lot accept it as normal

for them.

2. People like the way things have always been.

3. We don’t like change.

II. Is your life lived in complacency?

A. The people of Israel grew complacent.

1. They would rather live in the land of despair

than to fight for their promise from God.

2. What they said would happen to their children

if they fought was already happening in Egypt.

3. They were in bitter bondage and their children

were dying, but they were used to it.

B. Why can’t we see that change from God is good?

1. We like our rituals of worship.

2. We don’t want to upset the status quo.

3. Let’s stay where we are because it’s comfortable

and we’re used to it.

III. We can change our life if we want to.

A. We have to be willing to leave the familiar.

B. We have to trust that where God is leading us is

best.

C. We have to be willing to fight for our promise

until it is completed.
