The Believer Tree Psalm 1

1. In this Psalm compares us the Believers to that of a tree

• The Psalmist compares the upright, : 3 They are like trees planted by streams of water,

which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper.

2. Trees do a lot don’t they?

• They provide shade. They often bear fruits or nuts.

• They add oxygen to the air. Their wood is fuel for fires or lumber for shelter.

• They give protection from wind. Their foliage and roots prevent erosion.

• They are beautiful in shape,

3. The Believers are compared to that of a tree. we may call us the Believer Trees

Psalm 42: 12The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; 13planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God. 14They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green,

• Yes, the righteous are often compared to trees in the Bible. In Psalm 92, “The righteous flourish like the palm tree” (v. 12).

• In that same verse and in Hosea 14:5, the righteous are compared to the cedars of Lebanon. In Hosea 14:6, a righteous person is an olive tree. And in Isaiah 61:3, we read, “They shall be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display his glory”

4. Characteristics of the Believer Tree (Happy)

• The Believer is a person who is happy 1Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners

• or sit in the seat of mockers.— A Christian who goes through life unhappy is a Christian whose life, is in upheaval, disorder, confusion, trouble.

• The psalmist’s point is that this healthy tree planted by “streams of water” is happy.

5. A Believer (Tree) does not take bad advice according to the Psalm1:1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked

• This believer is careful whose advice or opinions they value and respect.

• The apostle Paul was even surprised by some believers to believe just about anything. “I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— not that there is another gospel, but there are some who are confusing you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ” (Galatians 1:6-7,

6. The Believer Tree: Does not walk with the ungodly especially in their acts

• That person who doesn’t walk down the same path as the wrong crowd. He does not “take the path that sinners tread” (v. 1). These people are strong enough to stand against the current, go against the crowd and clear their own trail.

• The Believer in this Psalm: That person is the one who delights in the word they digs into the Word continually. 2But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.

• The Believer in this Psalm is : That person who is fruitful. These people “yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper” (v. 3).

7. According to the psalm The Believer (TREE) is fruit bearer

• The Righteous the Beleiver is a Fruitful Tree . These people “yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper” (v. 3).The Beleiver 3 They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season,

• and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper.

• The Believer Tree Looks Good But it also makes others look good. Trees with lots of foliage help keep our atmosphere rich with oxygen, benefiting everyone. The believer is like that, too. He or She wants to help others breathe better, live better. People are better because they hang out under the shade that this believer offers.

• And this Believer Tree makes God look good. “They will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display his glory” (Isaiah 61:3, emphasis added). The Believer Tree glorifies God. With all that beautiful foliage, even in a season of drought (“In the year of drought it is not anxious, and it does not cease to bear fruit” Jeremiah 17:8), it glorifies its Creator.

8. Finally, we are the Trees of Righteousness

• we are the trees of Faith

• we are the trees that flourish

• we are the trees that prosper bear fruit

• we are the trees that stand in the midst of storms,
