Summary: The world is looking for reality, not just in TV shows, but in Christians. Do we live what we believe?

What is being REAL? We hear it all the time: "Get real!" or "For real?"

In a world that is hooked on reality shows like Survivor, American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, what does it mean to be REAL?

As a Christian, that is a pressing question I wish more of us would explore. Here in the south, the question isn’t "Does being a Christian work". The question is "Will being a Christian work for ME?"

I believe the answer for those people will come if we as Christians are "REAL".

OK, what is "REAL"?

R - be able to "Relate" with people. In the south, the question isn’t "Does being a Christian work". The question is "Will being a Christian work for me?" If people can’t relate to a person they can see, how will they relate to a God they cannot?

E - be "Energetic". The journey with God is the most fun any person will ever experience! Make sure your face knows what your heart is feeling! Don’t walk around like a stick in the mud or looking like you’re spiritually stoned!

A - be "Accountable" to God, others, & self. Pretty self explanatory. Be accountable to the things God wants you to do AND not do. Have a mentor in your life that you can be accountable to. Stand strong in your "Non-Negotiables". If there are things that you’ve said to yourself "I don’t want to be a part of that".....DON’T!

L - be a "Learner". You are either growing or dying. To grow spiritually, you have to continue to learn. If you feel "You’ve Arrived", you’re in BIG trouble. Learn from God. Learn from Mentors. Learn from your mistakes.

BE R.E.A.L.!!
