John 1 v 19 - 34 Behold, the Lamb of God! v 29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. Behold, the Lamb of God! (a) The Lamb of God Prophesied Gen. 22:8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. (b) The Lamb of God Typified Exod. 12:5,6 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: 6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening. (c) The Lamb of God Crucified Isa 53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. (d) The Lamb of God Glorified Rev. 5:6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. Rev.7: 9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. (e) The Lamb of God Identified John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. The Lamb of God ─ Jesus Christ Alone Is : - 1.The Sinless Lamb I Peter 1:18,19 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: JOHN STOOD UP AND SAID HE IS THE LAMB OF GOD.

A.HE IS THE PROMISED LAMB.

B.HE IS THE PURE LAMB. 1 Peter 2:22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

C.HE IS THE PERFECT LAMB. (a) Pilate's View Luke 23:4 Then said Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man.

(b) Centurion's View Matthew 27:54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God. (c) Judas's View Matthew 27:4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that. (d) God's View Romans 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: 2.The Substitutionary Lamb I Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. A. Lambs were commonly used for sin-offerings in the Old Testament.

Lev. 4:32 And if he bring a lamb for a sin offering, he shall bring it a female without blemish.

B. Three lambs were used for cleansing a leper.

Lev. 14:10 And on the eighth day he shall take two he lambs without blemish, and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish, and three tenth deals of fine flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, and one log of oil. 11 And the priest that maketh him clean shall present the man that is to be made clean, and those things, before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation:

C. Two lambs were killed every day (9 a.m.) & (3 p.m.)

Ex 29:38 Now this is that which thou shalt offer upon the altar; two lambs of the first year day by day continually. 39 The one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning; and the other lamb thou shalt offer at even:

This speaks of continual substitution. The blood was shed every day, twice a day, for the sins of Israel. There was daily intercession!

Heb 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
