Summary: Putting our faith in Jesus site unseen.

Mark 5:21-24

When Jesus had again crossed over by boat to the other side of the lake, a large crowd gathered around him while he was by the lake. [22] Then one of the synagogue rulers, named Jaruis, came there. Seeing Jesus, he fell at his feet [23] and pleaded earnestly with him, "My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live." [24] So Jesus went with him.

A large crowd followed and pressed around him.

Mark 5:35-43

While Jesus was still speaking, some men came from the house of Jaruis, the synagogue ruler. "Your daughter is dead," they said. "Why bother the teacher any more?"

[36] Ignoring what they said, Jesus told the synagogue ruler, "Don’t be afraid; just believe."

[37] He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James. [38] When they came to the home of the synagogue ruler, Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly. [39] He went in and said to them, "Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep." [40] But they laughed at him.

After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. [41] He took her by the hand and said to her, "Talitha koum!" (which means, "Little girl, I say to you, get up!"). [42] Immediately the girl stood up and walked around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished. [43] He gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this, and told them to give her something to eat.

How exciting it would be to have witnessed the miracles of Jesus.

Lame to walk, blind to see, dead brought to life……

How would that change your faith?

The Church is in need of a miracle!

Vs 35 - Just as men came from the house of Jaruis to pronounce his daughters death, the world tries to pronounce the death of the Church.

Vs 36 & 39 - Jesus response to Jaruis and to us is “ Don’t be afraid, believe”. The Church in not dead but in slumber.

Vs 40 - The world laughs and jeers at the Church and anyone that believes in her. The world is threatened by the life of the Church.

Vs 41 & 42 When Jesus tells the Church to get up she will get up and begin to walk, eat and run and live. She will do this to the astonishment of all.

What do we need to do to bring this revival about?

We must become a Jaruis!

A man or woman of Faith and purpose.

A Jaruis does 3 things…..

1. Falls at the feet of Jesus

Who was Jaruis - He was a ruler of the synagogue. That put him in a class of people that did not care much for

Jesus.

It has been said “ No man really prays until he is crushed to his knees”

A. We must be crushed to our knees.

Altar of prayer is the most important piece of furniture in your life.

B. We must set aside our pride, dignity, and fear of being judged.

Falling on His knees made a powerful statement.

2. We must plead earnestly with the Master.

A. We must pray for personal revival.

B. We must be intercessors for the Family.

Jaruis interceded for a daughter that could not call for help.

3. We must put aside fear and just believe.

Jaruis must have had a fit when Jesus stopped.

A. Fearlessness keeps us moving forward.

Jaruis must have really had a fit when his daughters death was pronounced.

B. Believing keeps us from giving up.

The Lady bleeding needed Jesus too. When God is

working in other families we must rejoice with them and

be patient.

Conclusion:

If we want to see true revival & true healing, we must become a Jaruis!

Fall at Jesus Feet

Plead earnestly

Put aside fear and disbelief
