What makes Joshua a Great Leader?

1. Joshua has a Great God.

To be a great leader you must have someone great to follow.

“And the Lord said to Joshua, ‘This day I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with you’.” Joshua 3:7

Joshua realized that God is God and that he was not!

Everyone works for someone.

“Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised.”

Psalm 48:1

2. Joshua has a Servant’s Heart.

To be a great leader you must serve.

“You shall command the priests who bear the ark of the covenant, saying, ‘When you have come to the edge of the water of the Jordan, you shall stand in the Jordan.’ So Joshua said to the children of Israel, ‘Come here, and hear the words of the Lord your God.’” Joshua 3:8-9

Joshua did what he was told to do willingly.

“Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant.” Matthew 20:26b (NLT)

“If you love me you will keep my commandments.” John 14:15

3. Joshua has trust in God.

THE EVENT – verse 17.

To be a great leader you must have a vision – faith – trust.

Faith is believing God Can.

“It is impossible to please God without faith.”

Hebrews 11:6 (NLT)
