1 Samuel 9:22”Then Samuel took Saul and his servant and brought them into the hall and gave them a place at the head of those who were invited, who were about thirty men.”

Someone said: “With the right set of mind, with the right people, with the right support, things happen.” Out of the blue, Saul is chosen by God to be the king of Israel because the people demanded for a king. Saul said, “Am I not a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel, and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin”; yet, he was chosen to be the king. God’s ways are higher than yours! You are rewarded with something big that you don’t deserve, this is called the grace of God!

Next, - this is ace right here - we see that the servant of Saul was also brought into the royal hall and was seated at the head of those who were invited – among all people of respect and repute. Boy, this is incredible! The servant of Saul also got to eat the best food that day and hang around with royal people, did you see that? Hanging around with the right people is very important! Don’t you ever give an excuse like, ‘I am just giving him company but I have nothing to do with him’, this is rubbish. If you stand with a terrorist or a murderer , you will also be arrested along with him, even though you may not have committed any crime. That’s the danger, be careful. If you hang around too long with an adulterous man, that evil spirit will jump on you too! Proverbs 13 20 He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.Caveat! James 4 4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

Young people should hear me out today, stay around with the right people and allow the blessings to shower on you too! Amen. It’s like standing beneath a massive waterfall and getting wet, Peter said, 2 Peter 1:4” he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.” When we stay close to God, we become partakers of His holiness, Amen.

DANIEL: Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego were close associates of Daniel and also prayer partners, when the death bell rang, these four guys decided to pray and guess what? God reveals the mystery for them in a dream, great things happen for those who believe, we read this episode in Daniel chapter 2. Because of the godly association, we see that Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego got a promotion, read Daniel 2:49"And Daniel made request of the king, and he appointed Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego over the administration of the province of Babylon, while Daniel was at the king's court."

ESTHER & MORDECAI: Esther 8:1"On that day King Ahasuerus gave the house of Haman, the enemy of the Jews, to Queen Esther; and Mordecai came before the king, for Esther had disclosed what he was to her." During the most perilous times in the city Susa, when death warrant was signed to wipe away all the Jews, Esther and Mordecai get together to counter-attack the enemy, when you get together with the right people you can blast the enemy away from your life. When a colleague of mine was going through strained relationship with her husband due to another woman walking into their life, I joined with her in fasting and prayer during the lunch hours and within a year God chased the woman out of their life. Hurray! Glory to Jesus!
