For sometime now the Lord as been helping me to understand that we need to live in the spirit and not in the flesh, unfortunately the body of Christ here on earth live mostly in the flesh and this is why we are not seeing enough of miracles in our lives. God in his faithfulness will often show up in the body of Christ to prove to us that he is still God and do things that are beyond our comprehension.

When the Lord through his Holy Spirit started teaching me about our spirit I was excited and amazed at the same time, I realized that we sometimes live in the spirit and then we often go back to the flesh and this is not what God intended for us as his children.

The Lord wants us to be constant by letting out spirit rule over our flesh, the flesh is of this realm and wants to be ruling our spirit and our soul! and because of where we are in this realm, our focus is always on where we are and meanwhile the word of God says this to us in the following bible verses:

John 17:16

They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

Jesus himself said to us that we are not of this world just as he is not of this world, but we are living more in this world all because we are here and our body which is just the vessel that we are using to carry our spirit and soul around is so used to this world and the bible also records this in :

Romans 12: 1 - 2

Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship. And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].

Our body is the temple of the Most High God and he lives in our bodies so that he can do his will in us through our body. This is why we have actually lost focus of our spirit just because we have concentrated so much on our flesh and the flesh is so used to dominating us, that we longer let our spirit dominate us.

Romans 8: 1 - 17

Therefore there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior]. For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has set you free from the law of sin and of death. For what the Law could not do [that is, overcome sin and remove its penalty, its power] being weakened by the flesh [man’s nature without the Holy Spirit], God did: He sent His own Son in the likeness of sinful man as an offering for sin. And He condemned sin in the flesh [subdued it and overcame it in the person of His own Son], so that the [righteous and just] requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us who do not live our lives in the ways of the flesh [guided by worldliness and our sinful nature], but [live our lives] in the ways of the Spirit [guided by His power]. For those who are living according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh [which gratify the body], but those who are living according to the Spirit, [set their minds on] the things of the Spirit [His will and purpose]. Now the mind of the flesh is death [both now and forever—because it pursues sin]; but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace [the spiritual well-being that comes from walking with God—both now and forever]; the mind of the flesh [with its sinful pursuits] is actively hostile to God. It does not submit itself to God’s law, since it cannot, and those who are in the flesh [living a life that caters to sinful appetites and impulses] cannot please God.

However, you are not [living] in the flesh [controlled by the sinful nature] but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God lives in you [directing and guiding you]. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him [and is not a child of God]. If Christ lives in you, though your [natural] body is dead because of sin, your spirit is alive because of righteousness [which He provides]. And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.
