Contributed by Steven W. Satterfield on Nov 17, 2020 (message contributor)
Summary: Based on the lectionary
Be still:
God is our refuge and strength - Psalm 46: 1, 2 (RSV)
Be still and know that I am God - Psalms 46: 10
Word of wisdom / knowledge; discerning of spirits - 1 Corinthians 12; 8, 10
Be not ashamed and be justified:
Paul, a bond-servant of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God." Romans 1: 1
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, 'but the righteous (man) shall live by faith.' Romans 1: 16-17
Faith vs. works (Ephesians 2: 8, 9; James 2: 14-16)
All creation proclaims God
Romans 1: 18-20 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world (God's invisible attributes, (God's) eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
Be justified by faith (Romans 3: 21-31) for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (v 23)
