Be Somebody!

Jesus had just crossed back over to Capernaum, and was on His way to heal the daughter of Jairus(one of the rulers of the synagogue, probably a rich man)and many people followed them. A certain woman which had an issue of blood came to Him.

I. SHE WAS A NOBODY

*She had spent all of her money on physicians, but none could help her. (v.26)

-She had nothing.

*She was a nobody by law. (Lev. 15:19)

-Discharges of a woman: unclean; had to be separted from everyone; no one could come in contact with her, touch her, set where she sat, etc...

-She was a nobody.

*Then, she heard of Jesus (v.27).

-She knew if she could just touch Him, she would be healed.

*She wouldn’t let anything stand in her way, eventhough she could have used many excuses.

-"He’s going to raise Jairus’ daughter", "I’m not improtant enough"(she wasn’t even allowed to be around anybody, much less in the middle of a big crowd).

-She pressed through the crowd, and touched His garment.

II. SHE WAS A SOMEBODY

*(v.29-31)

* Luke gives his account in Luke 8:46

-"And Jesus said, SOMEBODY hath touched me; for I perceive that the virtue is gone out of me."

*This woman who was a nobody, had suddenly become a somebody by simply coming to Jesus("...somebody hath touched me...")

III. SHE WAS A CHILD OF GOD

*(v.32-34)

*"And He said unto her, DAUGHTER, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague."

*Not only had the "nobody" become a "somebody", but she had become a child of God.

* Lost person, you have an issue of blood far greater than what this woman had, you have a plague that continues to grow worse and worse, it is called SIN.

*Sin promises big thing: promises success, but only brings failure; promises freedom, but only brings slavery; promises life, but only brings death (Rom. 6:23).

*The world and the devil will try to tell you that you are a nobody, not important to God.

*Have faith, "press through the crowd" comte to Jesus.

*BE SOMEBODY- Rom. 5:8- whosoever!!!

*A CHILD OF GOD- Rom. 8:14

***BE SOMEBODY***
