VIII. MAIN BODY:

Matthew 14:7 (Amplified Bible)

And so he promised with an oath to give her whatever she might ask.

A. They promised, they give an oath

"And so he promised with an oath"

These unbelievers, they put on a promise, they know they will not be able to fulfill.

They put up an oath, but they can't even make their head gray.

Matthew 5:33-37 (Amplified Bible)

Again, you have heard that it was said to the men of old, You shall not swear falsely, but you shall perform your oaths to the Lord [as a religious duty].

But I tell you, Do not bind yourselves by an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is the throne of God;

Or by the earth, for it is the footstool of His feet; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King.

And do not swear by your head, for you are not able to make a single hair white or black.

Let your Yes be simply Yes, and your No be simply No; anything more than that comes from the evil one.

Leviticus 19:12 (Amplified Bible)

And you shall not swear by My name falsely, neither shall you profane the name of your God. I am the Lord.

Numbers 30:2 (Amplified Bible)

If a man vows a vow to the Lord or swears an oath to bind himself by a pledge, he shall not break and profane his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.

Deuteronomy 23:21 (Amplified Bible)

When you make a vow to the Lord your God, you shall not be slack in paying it, for the Lord your God will surely require it of you, and slackness would be sin in you.

James 5:12 (Amplified Bible)

But above all [things], my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath; but let your yes be [a simple] yes, and your no be [a simple] no, so that you may not sin and fall under condemnation.

B. Whatever she asked

"to give her whatever she might ask"

Only GOD can fulfill promises and answer our prayers. Good news, GOD is not man who breaks promises.

Numbers 23:19 (Amplified Bible)

God is not a man, that He should tell or act a lie, neither the son of man, that He should feel repentance or compunction [for what He has promised]. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good?

Titus 1:2 (Amplified Bible)

[Resting] in the hope of eternal life, [life] which the ever truthful God Who cannot deceive promised before the world or the ages of time began.

Hebrews 6:18 (Amplified Bible)

This was so that, by two unchangeable things [His promise and His oath] in which it is impossible for God ever to prove false or deceive us, we who have fled [to Him] for refuge might have mighty indwelling strength and strong encouragement to grasp and hold fast the hope appointed for us and set before [us].

James 1:17 (Amplified Bible)

Every good gift and every perfect (free, large, full) gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of all [that gives] light, in [the shining of] Whom there can be no variation [rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [as in an eclipse].

Man is born in sin, we're all sinners and when compared to GOD we are all liars. Every human being is false and a liar. How come you will trust in man or trust human flesh? You are already cursed if you do this.
