INTRODUCTION:

Life is a battlefield, not a playground. Every destiny of greatness attracts opposition from forces that hate progress and resist divine lifting. These battles are not always visible, yet their effects are real—delays, disappointments, near-success failures, and sudden demotions.

Many believers wonder why despite their prayers and efforts, promotion seems far away. The answer lies in spiritual warfare. The enemy wages unseen battles to frustrate divine advancement, but those who understand their spiritual authority can overcome these hindrances.

God’s will is that His children should rise and shine (Isaiah 60:1). Therefore, believers must learn to confront and conquer the battles that resist their lifting. Until these battles are addressed through prayer, revelation, and holiness, many will keep walking in circles.

1. THE REALITY OF SPIRITUAL BATTLES AGAINST LIFTING

Every destiny has adversaries. Before elevation comes confrontation, and until the confrontation is won, the lifting remains delayed.

a) Invisible but Real Enemies (Ephesians 6:12):  Our battle is not against human beings but against unseen principalities and powers controlling systems and people to frustrate destinies.

b) The Enemy Targets Rising Stars (Exodus 1:16):  Pharaoh ordered the killing of Hebrew male children to prevent future deliverers. The devil fears potential.

c) Opposition to Divine Assignment (Zechariah 3:1):  Satan resisted Joshua the high priest to stop his divine service. Every calling faces contention.

d) Delays as a Weapon of Resistance (Daniel 10:13):

The prince of Persia delayed the angel carrying Daniel’s answer for 21 days until angelic reinforcement arrived.

Biblical Example: Job’s destiny faced fierce opposition from Satan, who attacked his wealth, health, and family. Yet Job stood firm, and God later lifted him double (Job 42:10).

2. TYPES OF BATTLES THAT HINDER LIFTING

Understanding the types of battles helps believers know how to fight strategically.

a) Foundational Battles (Psalm 11:3):  Evil family patterns, ancestral covenants, and inherited altars can resist divine lifting until they are broken.

b) Environmental Battles (Mark 6:5):  Certain territories are spiritually resistant to success. Even Jesus could do little in Nazareth due to unbelief.

c) Human Agents of Hindrance (Acts 13:8):  Elymas the sorcerer opposed Paul’s ministry, trying to block divine advancement. Some people act as satanic agents.

d) Personal Weakness and Disobedience (Proverbs 13:18):  Laziness, sin, and rebellion can self-sabotage divine promotion. God lifts only the obedient.

Biblical Example: Gideon faced family altars that limited Israel’s progress until he destroyed his father’s altar (Judges 6:25-28), after which he rose as a mighty deliverer.

3. GOD’S STRATEGY FOR OVERCOMING LIFTING BATTLES

Victory over spiritual hindrances comes through divine wisdom, consistent prayer, and obedience.

a) Engage in Fervent and Persistent Prayer (James 5:16):

Breakthrough requires consistent and focused intercession until victory is secured.

b) Live in Holiness and Obedience (Deuteronomy 28:1):  Sin gives the enemy legal ground to resist lifting. Obedience restores divine favour.

c) Apply Revelation Knowledge (Hosea 4:6):  The Word of God exposes satanic operations and empowers believers to overcome.

d) Depend on the Power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:26):  The Spirit intercedes through believers, exposing and defeating unseen forces.

Biblical Example: Daniel’s persistence in fasting and prayer drew angelic reinforcement, and his delayed answer was released (Daniel 10:12-13).

4. DIVINE LIFTING IS GOD’S COVENANT PROMISE

God delights in lifting His people. When the barriers are broken, divine promotion becomes inevitable.

a) God Lifts the Humble (James 4:10):  Humility before God attracts His favour and promotion.

b) Faithfulness Brings Elevation (Genesis 41:39-41):  Joseph’s loyalty and integrity led to his promotion from the prison to the palace.

c) God Determines Promotion (Psalm 75:6-7):  True lifting comes only from God, not from human manipulation.

d) Praise Activates Promotion (Psalm 67:5-7):  When we praise God in trials, He releases increase and lifting.

Biblical Example: Mordecai was once ignored at the king’s gate, but when God’s appointed time came, he was lifted and honoured publicly (Esther 6:10-12).

CONCLUSION:

Every man’s lifting is contested, but every battle can be won. The power that lifted Joseph, Esther, and Daniel will lift you above every force of resistance. God never forgets those who stand in faith.

Your lifting has been ordained by Heaven; therefore, rise in prayer, destroy every altar of delay, and refuse to remain on the same level. God is about to move you from obscurity to visibility, from labour to favour, and from battles to breakthrough!

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Lord, I thank You for Your plan of divine lifting over my life.

2. Every invisible power resisting my advancement, be destroyed by fire in Jesus’ name.
