Proverbs 3:5-6
Authentic Faith
INTRO: They say Trust is the most important thing in any relationship.
ME: Trust is something that I have a hard time with
1: Trust in
Trusting in something is easy, I expect this thing to do what it says it does
Trusting in someone is a little different,
Application: Someone can betray your trust, someone can let you down, someone can hurt you.
WE: Have you ever noticed how much value WE place on authenticity? We value REAL people, or solid, cool, etc...
2: Authentic
It means, real or genuine an old school word is Bona Fide
Bona Fide is sincere without intention to deceive
We value things/people that we trust
Application: authentic Louis Vuitton bag used is priced between $400-$1400 depending on make/model. WHY??? Because its a genuine bag made by Louis Vuitton.
YOU: Can you tell the difference between a real and a fake???
3: How can you???
You have to know what to look for
You have to know the intention of the thing or person
How do you know that???
Application: You have to be willing to learn, grow and change in order to begin to understand who God really is and why God is so interested in you…
God: God has so many things HE wants you to know about HIM
4: The most important thing
You can trust God/This is where you start
HE is who HE says HE is
He does what HE says He’ll do
God is more interested in your trust that HE is in your abilities or talents
Application: Faith is trust in action!!!! You choose to trust and believe in the things that you have faith in, God simply says choose me!!!
You: Think about what you trust in
5: How many times have you been let down by the things you trusted in???
Maybe you feel like God let you down
Maybe you trusted God with something and it didn’t work out the way you wanted
God never promised us that HE would fix all our problems, or take all of the hurt and ugly out of our lives.

Application: HE promised that you’d never have to face those things alone, HE promised you that nothing can separate you from HIS love.
SO WHAT: Trust is more than an idea, trust only happens when you choose to act on what you say you believe…
The invitation of Jesus is simple: “Come, follow Me.”
