Summary: A call from God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) for His Love to ARISE!

Introduction - Song of Solomon 2:1-13

These verses hold such an so endearing a view of the grace and love of the Lord Jesus,

as must be a very cold heart, not to feel a warmth of affection in them.

Jesus is represented as calling upon his church to arise and come forth with Him,

and He calls her beloved, His love, His fair one;

intimating the most tender and affectionate regard for her.

Never was there any love like the love of Jesus.

He so loved his church, as to give Himself for it; to die for His church, and

now to be everlastingly interceding for it.

Read and understand the love of God, like the peace of God “which passeth all understanding.”

Christ implores His Church, His bride, His love, to arise up and follow Him.

The winter past and the rain gone, the singing of birds being come,

and the flowers are blooming on the earth.

It was a long, dark winter indeed, in which our nature lay before the coming of Christ;

darkness had covered the earth, and the gross darkness of sin covered the people.

Both Jew and Gentile lay the weight of sin before the Son of righteousness came with healing.

Who but Jesus causes the spring to bud forth and the flowers to appear?

Who but Jesus giveth the green figs, or the tender grape?

Who but Jesus comes to call the church, His love, His bride to come away with Him?

Who but Jesus makes a dispensation in us from natural to grace?

Who but Jesus converts sinners and comforts saints?

Who but Jesus will raise the dead and wipe away all tears from their faces?

Isaiah 25:9, “He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears

from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all

the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.”

Who but Jesus?

And who for? Except for His church, His love, His bride.
