Encourage the congregation to seek God's wisdom and love Him consistently, so they can arise and shine as beacons of His love and faithfulness in the world.

Introduction

Good morning, family! I can't think of a better way to kick-start our time together than by diving headfirst into the rich wisdom of Proverbs.

Proverbs 13:9 says,

"The light of the righteous rejoices, but the lamp of the wicked will be put out."

It's a powerful reminder of God's faithfulness and the importance of consistently loving Him. We're gonna talk about arising and shining in His glory today.

As A.W. Tozer once wrote, "To know God is at once the easiest and the most difficult thing in the world." It's a beautiful paradox that we're privileged to explore together. The more we seek Him, the more we find Him, and the more we find Him, the more we love Him.

Let's bow our heads and hearts in prayer.

Lord, as we delve into Your Word today, we ask for Your wisdom and understanding. Open our hearts to receive Your teachings, and guide us towards a deeper love for You. Help us, Father, to arise and shine, to be a beacon of Your love and faithfulness in this world. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Now, let's get into it.

God's Faithfulness

God's faithfulness is the unwavering certainty that God is reliable, trustworthy, and consistent in His love for us. His faithfulness is not dependent on our actions, our worthiness, or our faith. It is an intrinsic part of His character, as constant as His existence.

Biblical examples: In Genesis, we see God's promise to Abraham to make him the father of many nations, a promise that seemed impossible given Sarah's barrenness and their old age. Yet, God was faithful to His promise, and Isaac was born. This story is a powerful testament to God's faithfulness, even when circumstances seem impossible.

The book of Exodus: We see God's faithfulness in delivering the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. Despite their grumbling and lack of faith, God remained faithful, guiding them through the wilderness and providing for their needs. This narrative underscores God's faithfulness, even when we are faithless.

God's covenant with David: He promised that his lineage would endure forever. This promise was fulfilled in the birth of Jesus Christ, our Savior. God's faithfulness is not just for the immediate circumstances but spans generations, revealing His long-term commitment to His promises.

The New Testament: We see God's faithfulness in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Despite humanity's sin and rebellion, God remained faithful to His promise of redemption. Jesus' sacrifice on the cross is the ultimate demonstration of God's faithfulness, His unwavering commitment to reconcile us to Himself.

A living reality that we experience daily: His faithfulness is evident in His provision, His guidance, His protection, and His presence. Every answered prayer, every moment of peace in the midst of turmoil, and every instance of divine intervention is a testament to God's faithfulness.

Recognizing His love: God's faithfulness is an expression of His love for us. He remains faithful because He loves us, not because we have earned it. His faithfulness is a reminder that we are loved unconditionally, that we are valued, and that we are never alone.

Not a license for complacency: It should inspire us to be faithful in our relationship with Him. As recipients of His faithfulness, we are called to be faithful in our obedience, our worship, and our service. God's faithfulness is not just a comfort; it is a call to action.

Pastor, here would be a good place to share a personal story about how God has been faithful to you throughout your life. This could also be a story about someone you know.
