Summary: Mockery is a powerful way to break a person mentally and especially emotionally! Mockery does not affect the body but it puts tremendous strain on the mind and shatters the heart of a person.

Are you mocked today?

Listen as I read Matthew 27- 28 “Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company of soldiers around him. They stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him.”

Mockery is a powerful way to break a person mentally and especially emotionally! Mockery does not affect the body but it puts tremendous strain on the mind and shatters the heart of a person. Dear friend, today’s word would soothe the heart of people who are bruised and shattered because of being mocked, teased and criticized.

I was in fact going through the grind in my own life but I thank God that I refused to act in the flesh but I turned my attention to the Word of God. God wonderfully brought my attention to the above mentioned scripture and I had a special revelation which brought tears to my eyes. Now look, verse 27 to 31 talks about the soldiers mocking Jesus in the most barbaric, ruthless and wicked way. Before the entire scene could begin, verse 27 says, “governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company of soldiers around him.” A whole gang of brutal, cold blooded soldiers were gathered to witness, participate and mock Jesus. Just imagine! Bring the scene right in front of you and look into those painful eyes of Jesus as He goes through all this without saying a word. He bore and endured all this for you and for me. The pain and humiliation that we are going through now is nothing compared to what Jesus suffered for you and me. As I meditated these words, I felt the weight lift off my shoulders and the pain leave my heart. God would deliver you too today!

Now, let me ask you, how do you react when people treat you badly? When your husband unfairly abuses you and wounds your emotions? How do you deal with a business partner or friend who betrays you? Do you hit back? Do you argue justifying your side of behavior with facts and figures? Do you cry and make a horrific scene? Do you scream and bring the roof down? If you do the latter one then you have acted in flesh. You are working and walking in the flesh. The Bible very clearly says in Romans 8:8 “Those who are in the flesh cannot please God” Did you hear me? You may be right in getting angry, you may be right in getting emotional because you have been wronged and cheated, YET, GOD EXPECTS US TO WALK IN SPIRIT.
