Are You Mad?

Ephesians 4:27-nor give place to the devil.

When you we allow the devil a place in our lives, a place where he can get in, it is like saying to him, “I saved a place for you!”

Ephesians 6:10-11-Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Wiles-Cunning behavior intended to persuade somebody to do something, especially in the form of insincere charm or flattery or to trick or entice somebody into doing or not doing something!

The devil is going to try to trick you and in doing so, he will get you to do what he wants you to do.

This next one that Paul talks about is one that a lot of people have trouble with, and the devil uses this emotion to trip up a lot of people!!

Ephesians 4:26-Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath,

Be Angry-There are a lot of things in this world we Christians should be angry about!

Things like…Social injustice-What is evil is being called good and what is good is being called evil!!

Religious Persecution-That Christian are no longer the majority, we are in the minority, we are being attacked from all sides, from what we can say, from how we can live, and how we interact with others!

Hunger-That there are people… children, elderly who go to bed hungry every night, in rich’s country in the world!

Health Care-That there are elderly who can’t afford to go to the doctor, or they can’t afford the meds they need!

Education-That we spend in this nation more money on entertainment (Sports) than we do on public education!

And if someone wants to continue their education after high school, they should not have to spend the rest of their life paying off school loans!!

Death Toll-All the deaths that happen every day, from abortions, suicides, murders!

I think all these things should upset us, they should disturb us, they should get us angry!

Because the truth is, a lot of times we will put up with stuff, we will ignore stuff, until we get angry and then we want to do something about it!

Or if I tell you, you can’t do something, you are going to get mad and bust a gut trying to do it!

I thought about old Moses, when he seen things that wasn’t right, he tried to solve them his own way!

Exodus 2:11-12-Now it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out to his brethren and looked at their burdens. And he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren. So he looked this way and that way, and when he saw no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.

That leads us to the next part of this verse, because, yes we are suppose to get angry, but what are we to do with that anger?

Do Not Sin-We can get so upset about things, so angry about things, so stirred up about things, that we will do something irrational!

Remember the guy who killed the abortion clinic doctor…He became, what he hated!

We can get so angry (Like I said, anger is a good thing because that emotion gets us to do something!) but the devil can also get us so stirred up that we do something that does not please God, or honor God!!

So how do we not sin, when we are angry?

Do Not Let The Sun Go Down On Your Wrath-No matter what it is that we see in this world that angers us, we need not to let it fester inside of us, because if we do that, it leads to bitterness!

The longer we dwell on something, the angrier we will become, and the more out of control we will become, so for that not to happen, we have to deal with it, and we have to deal with it before the day is over!

The first place to start is…Taking what angers us to God

We tell everyone that will listen, what we think should be done about a certain situation, or why it is not right, or why it makes us angry but we don’t express those emotions to God, and He is the one that can do something about it!!!

After we have told God about what has angered us, we should see what He wants us to do about it!

The second part is…That with God’s help, we find out what He wants us to do, and how He wants us to help!!

You want to stop abortions, then give your time, your money, your abilities to those programs, clinics, those institutions, who are making a difference in peoples lives!
