Are You In The Hands Of The Potter?
Contributed by Dr.w.samuel Legon on Jul 23, 2010 (message contributor)
Summary: We need to let God work in us to make us what he wantrs.
ARE YOU IN THE HANDS OF THE POTTER?
Jeremiah 18:6 O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.
1. The pressure of his hands (Gods)
As the clay is in the hands so are we in the hands of the Lord.
Through conviction
Remember David Psalm 32:4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.
5 I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
6 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.
7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
Through circumstances
Again look at David Psalm 31:15 My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.
How he molds our lives
In every circumstance he has full control
Many things we have no control over.
How wonderfully he solves all our problems
2. The purpose in the mind of God.
Loveliness
Over and over God speaks of “The beauty of holiness”
Psalm149:4 For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.
This is Gods purpose in mind for us.
Usefulness
Gods intention is for the soul of the believer be useful
John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
Christ said you have not chosen me but I have chosen you.
We should bring fruit
3. The patience of the love of God.
“marred in the hand of the potter , so he made another vessel”
Some have gone wrong
Often we do things wrong in the realm of the spirit.
Was there some fault in the clay?
Constancy in the love of our God
A picture to be hold Gods dealings with us.
Again and again he cleans up our lives
We need to turn loose and let him mold us like he wants to.
