Message Point: A disciple of Jesus has a firm foundation.
Focus Passage: Matthew 7: 24-27
Supplemental Passage: Mark 12:30 ‘AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.’
Introduction: Matthew 28:19-20 "Go therefore and make converts of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, (20) helping them to ignore all that I commanded you;"
I. Convert: to bring over from one belief, view, or party to another
a. Vs. 26-27
II. Disciple: one who accepts and assists in spreading the doctrines of another
a. Vs. 24-25
III. How do you become a disciple?
a. Luke 9:23 And He was saying to them all, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.
b. John 14:15 "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
c. John 15:4 "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.
