Talk about the relationship between God and Israel and Christ and the New Testament Church.
How that Israel is God’s wife and the New Testament Church is Christ’s bride.
Speak about Jewish customs with marriage and the arrangements that are made in preparation for husband and wife.
Are we the Bride of Christ?
Have we made the commitment?
If we are not the Bride of Christ, then who are we?
Our future home is either Heaven or Hell.
You do not have to believe that you are the Bride of Christ.
You do not have to believe in Hell.
I assume that everyone hear today believes that Jesus Christ is real or you will not be hear.
You can believe that Jesus is who he claims to be and believe that Hell is not real, but the fact is that if Hell is not real then Jesus is not real.
You might say I believe in Jesus Christ, but I do not believe that God would send anyone to Hell.
Your right He would not.
It is our chose, were either the Bride of Christ or a Harlot of Satan.
Were here to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We are here in preparation for that great wedding feast.
Are you a bride of Christ?
“Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us
an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour.” Verse 1, 2
These verses remind us of the obligation that was given to us in chapter 4.
That is to be what we were called to be.
If Lord Jesus Christ has saved us, then we are his bride.
Therefore, if we are his bride, then we are to act like it.
In Revelation 21:2, 9 we find these words:
“And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down form God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorne for her husband.....And there came unto me on of the seven angels which had the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.”
I we are the Bride of Christ, and then we do not run around on him.
“But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.” Verses 3, 4
If we have deceived ourselves into believing that we are the Bride of Christ then, these things are present in our lives and we have
no problem with them.
“For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.” Verse 5
“Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them.” Verses 6, 7
How can I know that I am a child of God?
“For it we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastend of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.” I Corinthians 11:31,32
I you are a child of God, then God will chastise you if you fall into sin.
“For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.” Verses 8-10
