I. EXORDIUM:
Have you seen the antichrist?
II. AUDIENCE PROFILE:
Believers
III. OBJECTIVES:
To prove that antichrist already existed long time ago.
IV. TEXT:
1 John 2:22-23 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)
And who is a liar? Anyone who says that Jesus is not the Christ. Anyone who denies the Father and the Son is an antichrist.
Anyone who denies the Son doesn’t have the Father, either. But anyone who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
V. THESIS:
Antichrists are now existing and learn their qualities/characteristics so you will not be deceived.
VI. TITLE:
Antichrists
VII. EXPLICATION:
A. Author: Apostle John, known as the Apostle of Love
B. Audience: To the christians
VIII. MAIN BODY:
A. Characteristics of antichrists:
1. Great liar (John 8:44)
John 8:44 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)
For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.
2. They don't acknowledge Jesus as the CHRIST (1 Corinthians 15:15, 2 Corinthians 11:13, Colossians 2:12)
a. There are true, genuine ones and there are also false/fakes. They don't acknowledge that JESUS CHRIST did not came here in the flesh, lived as a man, crucified, died, resurrected and ascended which is the very essence of the Gospel.
1 Corinthians 15:15 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)
And we apostles would all be lying about God—for we have said that God raised Christ from the grave. But that can’t be true if there is no resurrection of the dead.
2 Corinthians 11:13 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)
These people are false apostles. They are deceitful workers who disguise themselves as apostles of Christ.
Colossians 2:12 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)
For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead.
3. They have denied the Father and the Son (Matthew 11:27, John 10:30, Luke 10:22)
Matthew 11:27 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)
“My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”
John 10:30 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)
The Father and I are one.”
Luke 10:22 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)
“My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”
IX. CONCLUSION:
Flee from the antichrists (1 John 4:3, 1 John 2:22, 2 John 1:7)
1 John 4:3 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)
But if someone claims to be a prophet and does not acknowledge the truth about Jesus, that person is not from God. Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist, which you heard is coming into the world and indeed is already here.
1 John 2:22 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)
And who is a liar? Anyone who says that Jesus is not the Christ. Anyone who denies the Father and the Son is an antichrist.
2 John 1:7 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)
I say this because many deceivers have gone out into the world. They deny that Jesus Christ came in a real body. Such a person is a deceiver and an antichrist.
