Angel Feathers Or Horse Feathers

Dear Genebeth, I do not believe that angels leave feathers to let people know that they have been there. There's nothing in the Bible about this, so I would discount what people are telling you. Nevertheless, the Bible tells us that angels have very special ministries both in heaven and on earth. - Dr. Roger Barrier

I do not believe it either. There are many kinds of wings so we do not know if they even had feathers to drop. The word used for wings in Isa 6 can mean feathered, but also a flap. What if they are like bat wings? The Bible does not specifically tell us. Say they are feathers. Angels are Spirit beings so can they transmute parts of their bodies into a corporeal form?

Do all angels have wings or only the Seraphim who worship before the throne and the Cherubim? Seraphim had six wings and the Cherubim have four. Do some have two or none?

The angels who came into Sodom are not described as having wings since the men of the city considered them men. Wings would have maybe scared and confused them or can the angels fold their wings so they cannot be detected? Most angelic appearances do not mention wings and they appear as males.

Two female "angels" appear in Zechariah 5:9 with wings as storks. Storks are an unclean animal in Leviticus so I do not see them as holy angels. If he saw them from the back they may have been demons of the type let loose in Revelation 9:7,8. They were carrying off wickedness so it is a plausible thesis as nowhere but these two passages do angels fallen or otherwise have effeminate features.

Hebrews 13:2 indicates that while angels are our ministering spirits they often do not make themselves known to us. That may be as a means of preventing them being worshipped by foolish men.

Col_2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind.

An angel will not contradict or change the Gospel or the Word in any way.

Gal 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

Not all that appear as angels are angels of God for if satan can appear as an angel of light so can his minions.

2 Cor 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Have discernment for the enemy is slick.

Matt 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Not all who appear to have the gifts really have them.

Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

We are in a war zone so be sure you know your Lord and how to use His armor with discernment lest you be a casualty.
