Let me explain a few things about Easter

Easter is the story of Jesus. His Death, Burial, and Resurrection. Jesus was not just a man he was the son on God and man. He was the only way God could remove the sin from man.

Jesus was sent to pay the ultimate price for our sins. He was betrayed by one of his disciples named Judas. Then He was beaten and made fun of by the guards and the phoresies. After all of this Jesus was forced to carry his own cross to the site where he was to be hung on the cross. When Jesus was hung on the cross, he paid for our sins. After his death he was taken down and he was put in a tomb that was not his, he borrowed it. Why did he borrow the tomb and his disciples not buy one for him? Because he was not going to stay there. Instead, the disciples knew he was to rise in three days and he did. There was no grave that could hold him.

The point of Easter is to show the true picture of Jesus love for us. With the death of Jesus we are forgiven as long as we put our trust in Him. When we put our trust in Jesus we must surrender to his authority and ask Him to forgive us of our sins. When we do, we become a new creation is Christ and our sins are forgiven and forgotten. This is the reason we remember Easter every year. When we remember Easter we must remember the death of Jesus and the reason he died just like we remember the birth of Jesus every year at Christmas.

With every thing I just spoke about, what does it mean to give your life to Jesus? Why does God want us to surrender to Him? What happens after I surrender to Jesus as my lord ad savior?

When we give our life to Jesus we surrender to him. That means we stop doing the things we know we should not be doing. Some of those things are watching tv shows we know we shouldn’t, or not listening to our parents when they tell us to do something, and even doing things that would hurt others weather physically or internally like bullying them. Also we must start to live a Christ like life following the 10 commandments, praying and talking to God.

God wants us to surrender to him because if we surrender to him we will follow his word. Leading us to a better life without sin. When we surrender to Jesus as our Lord and Savior we change internally our heart changes. This is not a change that we can see but it is a change that we feel. When our heart changes we will start to act differently because we will not be drawn to the same things we used to.

Who is ready to make this change?

Dear God I know I am a sinner. I know that through your son Jesus I am saved. I ask for your forgiveness and I ask that you would forgive me of my sins. Lord I ask that you would be a light to my path and lead me not into the temptations of this world. Please keep me o the path you have laid before me in Jesus name I pray Amen.
