Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
This sermon encourages us to seek God's love, live as His children, and strive for righteousness, embodying these principles in our daily lives as a community.
Good morning, dear friends. Let's gather our hearts together. We're here to seek. To seek love. To seek light. To seek truth. We're here to live. To live as loved ones. To live as children. To live as saints. We're here to strive. To strive for goodness. To strive for holiness. To strive for righteousness.
It's a beautiful day, isn't it? A day full of promise. A day full of hope. A day full of love. And as we come together today, let's remember the words of G.K. Chesterton, who said, "The way to love anything is to realize that it might be lost."
In the heart of the Scripture, we find a profound truth. The Father's love is lavished upon us. It's not a trickle, not a stream, but a flood. It's overwhelming, all-encompassing, and all-consuming. This love is so great that it changes our identity. We are no longer strangers or foreigners. We are children of God. This is not a title earned or a position achieved. It's a gift given. It's a status conferred. It's an identity bestowed.
A. This love is not just a feeling or an emotion. It's a light. A light that illuminates our path. A light that guides our steps. A light that reveals our way. This light is not just a beacon or a lamp. It's a lighthouse. It's a torch. It's a sun. This light is not just for our benefit or our use. It's for the world. It's for the lost. It's for the seeking.
The world, however, does not know us. It does not recognize us. It does not understand us. Why? Because it did not know Him. It did not recognize Him. It did not understand Him. The world is in darkness. It's in blindness. It's in ignorance. But we are in the light. We are in the sight. We are in the knowledge.
B. This knowledge is a truth that sets us free. A truth that makes us whole. A truth that brings us life. This truth is not just a fact or a statement. It's a person. It's a relationship. It's a presence. This truth is not just for our minds or our intellects. It's for our hearts. It's for our souls. It's for our lives.
The love, the light, the truth, they are all found in one person. In Jesus Christ. He is the embodiment of the Father's love. He is the manifestation of the Father's light. He is the revelation of the Father's truth. In Him, we see what we are. In Him, we see what we can be. In Him, we see what we will be.
C. The promise of our future is not yet fully revealed. It's not yet fully known. It's not yet fully understood. But we have a hope. A hope that when Christ appears, we shall be like Him. We shall see Him as He is. This hope is not just a wish or a dream. It's a certainty. It's a guarantee. It's a pledge. This hope is not just for our future or our destiny. It's for our present. It's for our reality. It's for our transformation.
D. This transformation is not just a change or a shift. It's a purification. A purification that makes us pure, just as He is pure. This purification is not just a process or a progression. It's a sanctification. It's a consecration. It's a glorification. This purification is not just for our benefit or our improvement. It's for His glory. It's for His honor. It's for His pleasure.
