America and Ancient Israel

The similarities between the ancient Israelites and Americans today are staggering. There are numerous, and I mean numerous Old Testament and New Testament Scriptures dedicated to Israel and its eminent fall, so there is absolutely no way we will be able to cover them all. However, I would like to share with you my Top Ten from Psalms 106.

10. THEY (America) DID NOT REMEMBER HOW GOOD GOD

HAD BEEN TO THEM [106:7]

Psalm 106:7 Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.

Americans have it good; but are we a thankful nation? Not only do we not thank Him; we won’t even acknowledge Him.

9. THEY (America) BOWED DOWN TO IDOLS AND IMAGES [106:19]

Psalm 106:19 They made a calf in Horeb,

and worshipped the molten image.

Can anyone say Hollywood, Music, Sports ? These people have become more important

to our society than God. They get far more respect and admiration than Jesus.

8. THEY (America) FORGOT THEIR SAVIOR [106:21]

Psalm 106:21 They forgot God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;

November 14, 2014 ring any bells? The first Muslim prayer service held in our National Cathedral (an Episcopal church). We crossed the line (in the name of tolerance) when we allowed Muslims to turn their back on the cross and shout prayers that stated Allah is the greatest and the one true god.

We allowed another god to be worshiped in a church meant for Jesus Christ. In doing things like this and taking prayer out of school and government, we have truly forgotten who are savior is, Jesus Christ.

7. THEY (America) DESPISED THEIR HERITAGE [106:24]

Psalm 106:24 Yea, they despised the

pleasant land, they believed not his word:

How many Christians in America today,

are ashamed of Christianity? How many have fallen away from their Christian roots simply because we are now in the minority?

6. THEY (America) COMPROMISED THEIR CHARACTER TO BE LIKE OTHERS [106:28]

Psalm 106:28 They joined themselves also to Baalpeor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.

In order to fit in with society, Christians are compromising their values and beliefs.

Even churches are changing their doctrines to pacify “tolerance saints.” The Methodist Church decided to re-evaluate the Bible

and its history. “chrislam”

5. THEY(America) TEMPTED GOD [106:32]

Psalm 106:32 They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:

When we thumb our nose at God by doing what we want, on the account of grace, we too are daring Him to do something about it.

4. THEY (America) REBELLED AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT [106:33]

Psalm 106:33 Because they provoked his spirit, that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.

Even Pentecostals are tring to “educate out “ the Holy Ghost. Now, in hopes of uniting Muslims, Jews, and Christians, they are asking Christians to compromise on Jesus.

3. THEY (America) REFUSED TO CARRY OUT GOD’S ORDERS [106:34]

Psalm 106:34 They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:

Once again, American Christians have

a big problem with obedience. After all,

“it’s all about grace, right?

2. THEY (America) SACRIFICED THEIR SONS AND DAUGHTERS [106:37]

Psalm 106:37 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,

One word needed here: Abortion.

1. THEY (America) DEFILED THEMSELVES WITH EVIL [106:39]

Psalm 106:39 Thus were they defiled

with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.

A large part, maybe even a majority, of American Christians, today, look and act

no different from the world. Even though we are called to be different, called to be Holy, we still want to be a part of the world.

When we participate in the things of the world, we participate in things that are purely evil. We watch TV shows and movies that promote evil. When Christians pursue this world and the flesh more than we pursue God, are we really following Christ?

I’m not addressing the world but Christians.

America is not in trouble because of all those who do not know God. America will be punished because of those who do know Him and have forsaken Him and His will.

Take a look at Isaiah. God is angry because His chosen have forsaken Him and turned their backs on Him. It was not the “gentiles” that brought them down; it was Israel.

So remember that, the next time you start getting angry with non-believers, and how “they” are ruining this country.

Isaiah gives another list of things of things that led to their ( OUR ) destruction.

11. Their (America) sacrifices were not heartfelt and in vain. (Isaiah 1:13-15);

Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
