AMAZING GRACE
I CORINTHIANS 15:10
INTRODUCTION: Paul went from being a blasphemer to a believer. He went from a persecutor to a preacher. He went from a maniac to a missionary. He went from a Pharisee to “now I see”. He was lost but now he’s found! Why? All because of grace. Consider this grace (God’s unmerited favor).
I. Separating Grace (Gal. 1:15)
A. God was in His Birth
B. God Separated Him for Service
C. God Formed Him for a Purpose: See Jer. 1:5
II. Sparing Grace (Gal. 1:13)
A. God Protected Him from Death
B. God Spared Him from Justice: See I Tim. 1:12-14
III. Seeking Grace (Gal. 1:15)
A. Saul Was Called
B. The Call Came On A Road
C. Paul Was Not Seeking God But God Was Seeking Him!
See I Tim. 1:16. “Example” = pattern. Paul’s experience was the same pattern through which all are saved. The God of grace seeking the blind and lost.
IV. Saving Grace (Gal. 1:16)
A. Salvation Comes By Way Of Revelation: Acts 16:14
B. Salvation Comes By Grace: Not by perspirations/reformation/education.
V. Sanctifying Grace (Gal. 1:16)
A. God Saved Paul to Preach
B. Who But God Could Do It?
C. Like Paul, we are sanctified POSITIONALLY but He is sanctifying us PRACTICALLY.
VI. Sufficient Grace (2 Cor. 12:9)
A. We Don’t Understand It
B. It is sufficient for all our problems and persecutions.
CONCLUSION: And then one would ask “What’s so amazing about grace?” What a foolish question!
