As believers, we often question our spiritual standing. Ensuring we're right with God involves examining our relationship, repenting, and realigning with His will.
Biblical Indicators of Being Right with God
1. Obeying God's Commandments (John 14:15): Demonstrating love through obedience.
2. Faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 3:22-24): Trusting in Jesus' redemption.
3. Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23): Exhibiting love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
4. Prayer and Fellowship (1 Thessalonians 5:17): Maintaining continuous prayer and community.
5. Repentance and Forgiveness (1 John 1:9)*: Embracing humility, confession, and forgiveness.
Signs You May Not Be Right with God
1. Unrepentant Sin (Psalm 66:18): Ignoring or justifying sin.
2. Lack of Prayer (Luke 18:1-8): Neglecting communication.
3. Disobedience (1 Samuel 15:22-23): Disregarding God's commands.
4. Bitterness and Unforgiveness (Matthew 6:14-15): Harboring resentment.
5. Idolatry (Exodus 20:3-5): Prioritizing worldly desires.
Restoring Righteousness
1. Confess and Repent (1 John 1:9).
2. Seek Forgiveness (Matthew 6:14-15).
3. Realign with Scripture (Psalm 119:133).
4. Cultivate Prayer (Luke 18:1-8).
5. Pursue Spiritual Growth (2 Peter 3:18).
