INTRODUCTION:
The phrase "All will be well" is not just a hopeful wish but a divine assurance from the Word of God. It is a message of hope and confidence that regardless of the challenges we may face, God's plan is for our ultimate good. This sermon focuses on understanding the promise that all will indeed be well for those who trust in the Lord. As believers, we must hold onto God's promises in times of difficulty, knowing that He is working everything out for our good.
1. GOD'S PROMISE OF WELL-BEING
God has promised that all will be well for those who walk in righteousness and trust in Him.
a) A Covenant of Peace: God has made a covenant of peace with His people, and He will ensure that peace prevails in their lives (Isaiah 54:10).
b) God's Plan for Good: God assures us that His plans for us are good, plans to prosper us and give us a future (Jeremiah 29:11).
c) God’s Presence in Trouble: Even in the midst of trials, God is with us, and He will turn our troubles into testimonies (Psalm 46:1).
d) Assurance of Comfort: God promises to comfort His people in difficult times, assuring us that all will be well (Isaiah 66:13).
e) Well-being of the Righteous: The Bible promises that it shall be well with the righteous, and they will enjoy the fruits of their labor (Isaiah 3:10).
Biblical Example:
In 2 Kings 4:26, when Elisha asked the Shunammite woman if all was well despite the death of her son, she responded, "It is well," holding onto faith even in a hopeless situation. God honoured her faith by bringing her son back to life.
2. TRUSTING GOD IN CHALLENGING TIMES
Believing that all will be well requires us to trust God even when circumstances seem unfavorable.
a) Trust in God's Sovereignty: No matter the situation, trust that God is in control, and He is working behind the scenes (Proverbs 3:5-6).
b) Faith Beyond Sight: Faith requires us to believe in God’s promises even when we cannot see immediate results (Hebrews 11:1).
c) Patience in Trials: Trusting that all will be well means having patience and waiting on God to act in His perfect timing (James 1:4).
d) Rest in God's Faithfulness: God's faithfulness is sure, and He will never abandon His people, even in difficult times (Lamentations 3:22-23).
e) Praise in the Storm: Trust in God is demonstrated through worship and praise, even in times of adversity (Habakkuk 3:17-18).
Biblical Example:
Job is a powerful example of trusting God in challenging times. Despite losing everything, he declared, "Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him" (Job 13:15). In the end, God restored everything Job had lost and more.
3. GOD WORKS ALL THINGS FOR OUR GOOD
God uses even the difficult moments in our lives to bring about good for those who love Him.
a) Divine Purpose in Suffering: God uses trials to shape and mature us, producing endurance and hope (Romans 5:3-4).
b) God's Goodness in All Circumstances: We can be confident that God’s goodness is at work even in unfavorable situations (Romans 8:28).
c) Refining Process: Difficulties serve as a refining fire, purifying us and making us more like Christ (Malachi 3:3).
d) Victory Over Trials: Through Christ, we are more than conquerors, and we will emerge victorious from every trial (Romans 8:37).
e) Restoration After Suffering: After we have endured, God promises to restore, strengthen, and establish us (1 Peter 5:10).
Biblical Example:
Joseph’s life illustrates how God works all things for good. Although he was betrayed by his brothers and faced many trials, he eventually became the second most powerful man in Egypt. He acknowledged that what others meant for evil, God used for good (Genesis 50:20).
4. ANCHORED IN GOD'S WORD
To maintain the assurance that all will be well, we must remain anchored in the promises of God’s Word.
a) The Word as a Foundation: God's Word is the foundation for our faith, and it gives us confidence that all will be well (Psalm 119:105).
b) Claiming God's Promises: We must actively claim and declare the promises of God over our lives (2 Corinthians 1:20).
c) Meditating on the Word: Regular meditation on God's Word strengthens our faith and reminds us of His goodness (Joshua 1:8).
d) Speaking Life: The power of life and death is in the tongue; we must speak life and believe that all will be well (Proverbs 18:21).
e) The Word as a Shield: God’s Word acts as a shield, protecting us from doubt and fear during challenging times (Ephesians 6:16-17).
