Summary: Two warnings about Judgment Day.

All Rise, Court Is Now In Session - Revelation 20:11-15

Introduction:

A man was arrested by a cop for being caught eating a Bald eagle. When he appeared in court the judged asked him why he ate the Bald eagle realizing it was an endangered species. The man replied saying, "Judge, I am a very poor man and that was all I could find to eat." Having mercy on the poor man, the judge decided to let him go. As the man was heading out of the courtroom the judge couldnt help but wonder what the eagle tasted like so he said, "Son, before you leave, what exactly does a bald eagle taste like?" The man replied by saying, "Well judge, it tastes like a cross between a whooping crane and a spotted owl." Here was a man that was able to talk his way out of being judged. The Bible says that one day everyone of us will appear in Heaven’s courtroom and we will all appear before a righteous judge. On that day we will not be able to hide or talk our way out. In this sermon I want to present to you the warnings about Judgment Day. I want you to see what the sinner will see and hear on that day. Notice first of all, what the sinner will hear on Judgement Day:

I. The Sinner’s Vision In The Courtroom (v 11-12b)

A. He Will See Victory (11a)

They will see The Savior sitting on the throne.

B. He Will See Vacancy (11b)

Everything will be gone leaving nowhere to hide.

C. He Will See Variety (12a)

All the lost, great and small, will be there.

D. He Will See Verity (12b)

The books will reveal the truth.

II. The Sinner’s Verdict In The Courtroom (v 12c-15)

A. He Will Hear A Revealing (13a)

All their deeds will be brought out.

B. He Will Hear A Reviewing (13b)

They will be judged according to their deeds.

C. He Will Hear A Reviling (14-15)

All those who are lost will be sent to hell.

Invitation:

In closing, I want to challenge each one of you to make sure your name is in the Lamb’s Book of Life. If not the Bible says you will be sent to a place called hell where the worm never dies and fire is never quenched (Mark 9:48).
