Summary: Agrippa Before Paul

Acts 26 v 19 - 32 Agrippa Before Paul

The Vision - 19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa,

I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:

A Heavenly vision, a Hurting vision, a Healing vision, a Helping vision.

It's Addiction - 20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus,

It's Addition - and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea,

It's Adaptation - and then to the Gentiles,

It's Admission - that they should repent and turn to God,

It's Admonition - and do works meet for repentance.

The Violence - 21 For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple,

and went about to kill me.

It's Perversion - 21 For these causes

It's Privation - the Jews caught me in the temple,

It's Progression - and went about to kill me.

The Vigour

The Help - 22 Having therefore obtained help of God,

The Hold - I continue unto this day,

The Host - witnessing both to small and great,

The Hope - saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:

The Vindication

The Suffering One - 23 That Christ should suffer,

The Sovereign One - and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead,

The Shining One - and should shew light unto the people,

The Saving One - and to the Gentiles.

The Vexation

The Speech - 24 And as he thus spake for himself,

The Spat - Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself;

The Spin - much learning doth make thee mad.

The Spark - 25 But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus;

but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.

The Validation -

The Light - 26 For the king knoweth of these things,

The Liberty - before whom also I speak freely:

The Link - for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him

The Living - for this thing was not done in a corner.

The Valuation

The Challenge - 27 King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets?

The Charge - I know that thou believest.

The Choice - 28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul,

The Check - Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.

Philip Bliss, Reverend Brundage “He who is almost persuaded is almost saved, and to be almost saved is to be entirely lost” Almost persuaded

1. Almost persuaded now to leave all

Almost persuaded to answer God’s call:

Souls now in darkness weep, Lost in despair so deep,

Servants of Christ asleep, God sees it all.

2. Almost persuaded, God’s call to is clear,

Almost persuaded – is home so dear?

Is now the cost too great? Cannot the lost ones wait?

Your answer seals the fate, Of precious souls.

3. Almost persuaded, bitter remorse, Almost persuaded, eternal loss.

Shall souls who might have been, Washed in the crimson stream

Still die without a gleam, Of Gospel light? Missionary Dan Truax.

The Chastening - 29 And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou,

but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.

The Verdict -

The Judiciary - 30 and when he had thus spoken, the king rose up,

and the governor, and Bernice, and they that sat with them:

The Judgment - 31 And when they were gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds.

The Justification - 32 Then said Agrippa unto Festus, This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed unto Caesar.
