Addressed According To Your Dressing

TEXT: Genesis 41:14, 42

"Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh. And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck."

A CHANGE OF GARMENTS

In a period of 24hrs, Joseph was made to put on three different garments. His prison clothes were changed to those worthy of standing before Pharoah and later replaced by royal garments. As his dressing changed, the way people addressed him also changed. As a prisoner, with prison garments; he was addressed as a villian and disdained. In Pharaoh's court he was accorded a measure of respect but when he put on royal apparels, people bowed down before him. This illustrates the point that people address you the way you dress. It is the same in the spiritual realm. God addresses you the way you dress spiritually.The Lord will remove every garment of shame and sin, every garment of reproach and stagnation in your life and cloth you with the garments of righteousness, favour and praise in Jesus name.

FILTHY GARMENTS OF SIN

In Zechariah 3:1-5, we read about Joshua, the high priest of God standing before the angel of God with Satan by his side to resist him. We learn in verse 3 that Joshua was clothed with filthy garments. The Lord ordered that his clothes be changed and in that process declared that his sins were forgiven. Filthy garments represent sin and allows Satan to resist our progress in life. God could not address Joshua until his dressing was changed. The Lord himself will cause your filthy garments to be changed to garments of righteousness in Jesus name. Please note that Joshua was a high priest, but God could not address him as such because of sin. We walk around as Christians, not knowing that we are spiritually wearing filthy garments. This allows Satan to have a foothold in our destiny.God will open your eyes to see your true spiritual state and by his grace and mercy replace every filthy garment in your life in Jesus name.

SPIRITUAL GARMENTS

Every Christian is expected to put on their full spiritual armour (soldiers battle dress) as we are in a daily battle with the forces of darkness as revealed in Ephesians 6:12-18. A Christian that is fully dressed in the spiritual armour of God cannot be manipulated by Satan. Your spiritual dress include: Salvation, Truth, Righteousness, Gospel of peace, Faith, Word of God and Prayer. Other spiritual clothing include: Garment of praise (Isa 61:3); Garment of light (Ps 104:2); Garment of the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Gal 5:22-23), Garment of meek and quiet spirit (1 Pet 3:3-4, 5:5) etc.

Your spiritual garment is much more important than your physical garment. We spend so much time and money to dress gorgeously in the physical realm but most of us don't care how we dress in the spiritual realm. Your beautiful physical dress will fade away with fashion trends and rot with your flesh in the grave but your spiritual garments will not only take you to heaven but make all the forces in heaven, on earth and under the earth to work together for your favour. Dress well physically, but dress better spiritually.

PRAYER

Father, help me to be conscious of my spiritual garments. Cause my spiritual dress to open doors of favour, breakthrough, healing and prosperity for me here on earth in Jesus name.

My garments are washed in the blood of the lamb.
