Is this a true statement? Do we really believe this? Then this morning I want to show us how some of us are acting, spiritually.

Let’s read some verses that tell us the same thing…It’s not so much what we hear, but what we do that really counts. James 1:22-24, Matthew 7:21-28, Romans 2:13

Our problem today is not in hearing, but in performing the doing. None of us are doing all we know to do.

For us that are saved it is not as severe a problem as to the lost person, let me explain.

1. If a Christian is not obeying, he will suffer loss, but not the loss of his soul. 1 Cor. 3:12-15

2. If you’re here and have never been saved, you are still lost, and will lose the most…. your soul. Mark 8:36-37

3. This is what Jesus is talking about. Matthew 7:21

4. My greatest problem as a preacher is not finding principles, doctrines, topics to preach, but my problem is preaching these in such a manner that will cause you to obey what you hear. Nehemiah 8;1-3 vs. 8

a. Be a doer and not hearers only

b. Action not words

5. I know some of you will criticize, condemn me and you may possibly never come back because of this message.

a. But if only one soul will trust Jesus and spend all of eternity with the Lord because of this message, it will be worth it.

6. Please understand if I could buy salvation for you, I would. If I could force you to be saved, I would. If I could be saved for you, I would.

7. God has designed salvation so the only way a person can be saved is for that person to trust Jesus for himself.

8. Le me ask again, how many really believe the statement, “Actions speak louder than words?”

a. On the job, in the home, with your mate, with your children.

b. Even true of the spiritual realm. Luke 6:46

c. This morning I want my action to speak louder than words.

I. What is this Book…. Bible……God’s Word

I have a great respect for this bible, try to take good care of the physical part of this book, but how much greater we need to heed the teachings of this book.

1. 2 Peter 1:20-21 & 2 Timothy 3:16

2. Does this book contain the word of God, or is it the word of God?

a. We must believe all of it or not any of it. Man is not to say what is inspired and what is not.

b. Matthew 24: 35

3. Could this word of God ever be wrong? No!

a. Old Testament prophecies

b. the redemption of man

c. Jesus coming again.

4. Now for the next few minutes I want you to listen to the words of Jesus. Do you really believe he is who this book says he is?

a. Matthew 16: 13 - 16 I

b. John 2: 1 – 5

5. Keep in mind actions speak louder than words.

II. Jesus said you must be born again. John 3: 1 - 7

1. Is there any person here that has not heard that statement before? All of us have. It is a popular thing to say.

2. I am sure that all of us have heard messages on the new birth. I have preached at least four on this subject.

a. I have read and referred to these verses at least once a month.

3. We could talk about the man, the mysteries, the miracle, the method, but head knowledge is not enough.

a. Jesus just told Nicodemas to be born again.

b. I and most of us know as much if not more than he did, and you have never been born again.

4. Your actions speak louder than your words. By your actions you are saying tear it out.

III. Jesus said He is the way, the truth, and the life. John 14: 1 - 6

1. What are you trusting in to take you to heaven? Your way or Gods way?

2. If you say anything other than Jesus, you're wrong.

1 John 5:11-13

3. No other name, Mormons, Catholics, just Jesus.

Acts 4:12, 1 Tim. 2:5

4. Not morals. Luke 18: 9

5. Not works. Titus 3: 5, Ephesians 2:8-9

6. Yet your actions speak louder than your words.

IV. Jesus said to prepare for his coming. Matthew 24: 37 – 44

1. This same Jesus. Acts 1:10-11

2. I will come again. John 14:3

3. Jesus is coming. 1 Thess. 4:13-16

4. Christians and lost people alike, by our actions are saying I don't believe that.

V. Jesus said all that are not saved will go to hell.
