Ephesians 4:7-16
I. We Must Have Leaders for the Church
A. Apostles
B. Prophets
C. Evangelists
D. Pastors
E. Teachers
II. What is the Purpose of Church Leaders
A. To Prepare the Church for Ministry.
“…to prepare God’s people for works of service …”
Why? - a. To Strengthen the Church.
“…so that the body of Christ may be built up…”
B. To Unify the Church’s Faith.
“…reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God …”
Why? - So that the Church will mature.
“…become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”
III. 3 Marks of The Mature Church
A. We have Wisdom.
“…we will no longer be infants …”
B. We have Truth.
“…speaking the truth in love …”
C. We have Each Other.
“…the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament…”
