This funeral sermon is aimed at comforting believers as they mourn the loss of a precious daughter.

Introduction

On behalf of the family of _______ I wish to thank each one of you for being here today. Despite the immense difficulty of today, we have the promises found in the Scriptures to cling to. We gather here today under the loving gaze of our Creator. We are here to find comfort, to seek wisdom, and to share in the fellowship of faith during our time of grief. I wanted to start by reading a passage from Job 14:1 that talks about the tragedy of what we are experiencing today. It reads, "Man born of woman is of few days and full of trouble." This simple yet powerful line reminds us of the fleeting nature of our earthly existence, the certainty of our struggles, and the timeless truth of God's sovereignty.

Jesus prevails over death for Believers.

Jesus said "Don’t let your hearts be troubled." We are troubled when we don’t know what is going to happen when we die, but Jesus has taken the fear out of dying. He has conquered the grave and death so there needs to be no fear in our eternal future.

Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore.- Revelation 1:17-18

Do you know what the good news is this evening? Death had no Christ on Him nor does it have a hold on us. Because Christ conquered death there should be no fear for the Christian because through Christ we also conquer death.

_______ life is not over, as a matter of fact, it has just begun. _______ has shed the temporary for the eternal, the tarnished for the spotless and the passing for the everlasting. Yes our earthly bodies die, however our heavenly bodies endure for all eternity.

Jesus prepares a place for Believers.

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
