VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Abraham obeyed and went forth to a place destined as his inheritance.

"[Urged on] by faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and went forth to a place which he was destined to receive as an inheritance;"

Genesis 11:31 (Amplified Bible)

11:31 And Terah took Abram his son, Lot the son of Haran, his grandson, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram’s wife, and they went forth together to go from Ur of the Chaldees into the land of Canaan; but when they came to Haran, they settled there.

Genesis 12:1-4 (Amplified Bible)

12:1 NOW [in Haran] the Lord said to Abram, Go for yourself [for your own advantage] away from your country, from your relatives and your father’s house, to the land that I will show you.

12:2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you [with abundant increase of favors] and make your name famous and distinguished, and you will be a blessing [dispensing good to others].

12:3 And I will bless those who bless you [who confer prosperity or happiness upon you] and curse him who curses or uses insolent language toward you; in you will all the families and kindred of the earth be blessed [and by you they will bless themselves].

12:4 So Abram departed, as the Lord had directed him; and Lot [his nephew] went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran.

Nehemiah 9:7-8 (Amplified Bible)

9:7 You are the Lord, the God Who chose Abram and brought him out of Ur of the Chaldees and gave him the name Abraham.

9:8 You found his heart faithful before You, and You made the covenant with him to give his descendants the land of the Canaanite, Hittite, Amorite, Perizzite, Jebusite, and Girgashite. And You have fulfilled Your promise, for You are just and righteous.

Acts 7:2-4 (Amplified Bible)

7:2 And he answered, Brethren and fathers, listen to me! The God of glory appeared to our forefather Abraham when he was still in Mesopotamia, before he [went to] live in Haran,

7:3 And He said to him, Leave your own country and your relatives and come into the land (region) that I will point out to you.

7:4 So then he went forth from the land of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. And from there, after his father died, [God] transferred him to this country in which you are now dwelling.

Isaiah 51:2 (Amplified Bible)

51:2 Look to Abraham your father and to Sarah who bore you; for I called him when he was but one, and I blessed him and made him many.

Now in the New Testament of Grace, we are looking unto JESUS while fulfilling His leading in our lives, our focus, example and model is JESUS. This is not blind obedience because we know GOD through JESUS CHRIST will not bring us any harm or planned to hurt us, so we listen to His voice and follow His leading and do things that are according to the Bible without question. Actually when we fully obey, we have eyes to see and ears to hear. Let His WORDS be your Guide.

Hebrews 12:2 (Amplified Bible)

12:2 Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
