Abel Offered God A More Excellent Sacrifice Series

Genesis 3:21 (Amplified Bible)

3:21 For Adam also and for his wife the Lord God made long coats (tunics) of skins and clothed them.

Cain knew that he needed to bring first fruit to GOD but never did it, instead Abel did this and was accepted, both he and his first fruit offering.

Romans 11:16 (New King James Version)

11:16 For if the first fruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

Two reasons why Cain's sacrifice are rejected: a. it's not first fruit, b. it's not an animal's blood

B. GOD accepted and acknowledged Abel's gifts, though he died, he is still speaking

"and God bore witness by accepting and acknowledging his gifts. And though he died, yet [through the incident] he is still speaking"

Testifying or "martureo" in Greek meaning:

1. to be a witness

2. to testify

3. to charge, give evidence, bear record, have obtained good honest report, be well reported, give testimony

Hebrews 12:1 (Amplified Bible)

12:1 THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,

Hebrews 12:24 (Amplified Bible)

12:24 And to Jesus, the Mediator (Go-between, Agent) of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood which speaks [of mercy], a better and nobler and more gracious message than the blood of Abel [which cried out for vengeance].

Matthew 23:35 (Amplified Bible)

23:35 So that upon your heads may come all the blood of the righteous (those who correspond to the divine standard of right) shed on earth, from the blood of the righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar [of burnt offering].

The Blood of JESUS speaks better than the blood of Abel.

IX. CONCLUSION:

Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS, for Your blood speaks better, nobler and greater message of mercy and forgiveness than Abel's blood, and your blood made us righteous by faith.
