A TRUSTING PRAYER IN A TIME OF NEED
PSALM 27:1-4
I. A SURE DEFENSE – 1-3
a. GOD IS MY LIGHT
i. SOURCE OF ILLUMINATION
ii. SOURCE OF UNDERSTANDING
b. GOD IS MY SALVATION
i. MY STRONG FORTIFIED PLACE
ii. A PLACE THAT REMOVES MY FEAR
c. GOD IS MY STRONGHOLD
i. MY DEFENSE
ii. THE STRENGTH OF MY LIFE
d. THE RESULT
i. GOD TRIPS UP MY ENEMIES
ii. GOD REMOVES MY FEAR
iii. GOD SUSTAINS MY CONFIDENCE IN HIM
II. A HEART’S DESIRE – 4-6
a. TO ASK OF THE LORD – REALLY WHAT DO WE SEEK AN ANSWER FOR THAT WE HAVE NOT ASKED GOD?
b. MY MAIN PURPOSE
i. DWELL IN GOD’S HOUSE – TO EXPRESS MY CONFIDENCE IN GOD
ii. TO BEHOLD GOD’S BEAUTY --
iii. SEEK HIM IN HIS TEMPLE – TO TRUST IN GOD AS MY REFUGE
c. TO EXPERIENCE SAFETY TO A POINT THAT I CAN SING – GIVE AWAY MY POSITION
III. A SOULS CRY – 7-12
a. A TROUBLED SOUL NEEDS TO SEEK GOD’S FACE
b. A TROUBLED SOUL NEED TO EMBRACE GOD’S CONCERN – IE THE FATHER OF THE PRODIGAL SON
c. A TROUBLED SOUL NEED TO UNDERSTAND GOD’S NATURE – MAN FORSAKES BUT GOD WILL NEVER LEAVE OR FORSAKE US
IV. A SURE RESPONSE – 13-14
a. HAVE CONFIDENCE IN GOD
b. SEE HIS GOODNESS IN ALL THINGS
c. WAIT FOR GOD
