Today, I am so excited and encouraged in my spirit because our God is so great.
He is faithful!
He is merciful.
He is a loving God.
He is a healer
He is a way-maker.
I wanted to share with you what God has done in my life, and what he continues to do.
I am the founder of Hand-To- Hand Outreach, which reaches out to share the gospel. One of my goals is to travel to different churches to deliver the GOOD NEWS and to bring hope. I would like to encourage you to surrender all your problems to our Heavenly Father and to remind you that we are create for His purpose.
I have Cerebral Palsy due to complications during childbirth I was born dead, but God had a plan for me. God gave the doctor a will and determination to revive me after 8 minutes without oxygen. The doctors told my parents that I would be dumb and I would not even know when I was hungry. Take a moment and think how dumb that is. Even animals know when they are hungry.
Couple of years later, the doctors tried to tell my parents to put me in a wheelchair because I would not be able to walk.
God had a different plan for my life. The doctors did not consider I was made for His glory and purpose. Like all of you, you were created for His glory and purpose.
My parents enrolled me in a preschool for children with physical disabilities, and I learned to walk with a walker and braces on my legs by the age 4.
The following year I developed epilepsy, and I had a grand mal seizure and the doctor pronounced me dead once again. God gave me another doctor who was determined to save me. When they pronounced me dead, my mom began to pray. She promised God that she would take me to church if He would bring me back to her. My family joined a church, that is where I gave my heart to Jesus, and I was baptized in water. God uses situations for His purpose and glory.
When I was eight years old, I asked God for a healing from the walker and braces. Months later God deliver me from my walker and the braces. God said in John 14:14, “You may ask me for anything in My Name and I will do it.”
My Lord has always been with me through all things large and small.
I had a teacher who told me I was dumb, and I would never have the ability to accomplish any of my goals. My family was going to a First Assembles of God that had a junior high and high school, so I asked the Lord to opened doors for me to go to the Christian school. I had asked the principal to consider letting me go to the school, and she told me to let her pray about it God is a good God and faithful. He touched the principal’s heart and she let me enroll for the Summer School, and then I enroll for my first year in a regular school. God also touched a teacher’s heart, and she started to teach me on a one-to-one basis. On many nights, she even took me home with her, so she could help me even more. I graduated six months early before my class. God is so good to his children. God is so faithful when we are in His will..
At the age of fourteen, I started praying for a healing of my epilepsy, so I could receive a learning permit when I was fifteen and half. God answers my prayers! God healed me, and I received my permit and my driver licenses by the age of sixteen. I thank God for my patient dad.
At the age of twenty, I walked away from the Lord and church for twelve years. I was not faithful to God in those years, even though God was still faithful to me. He still had my life in his hands, and He was mapping it out in every way. He gave me a wonderful husband, and we have been married for 22 years.
In 2001 I was searching for my purpose in life by looking for a job with my first degree. In four months, I had about seven interviews, but not one would even consider me. I had forgotten that God was in control and I was not. I was getting to be an angry and a bitter person. My dad kept telling me to go back to church, and I will find my purpose. I decided to get closer to the Lord, so I turn on the radio to a Christian station and I found a good Bible teacher. Chuck Swindoll was teaching on the book of Ephesians. Chapter 1 verses 1 through 7. He explained that we are saved by the grace of Jesus, and Jesus chose us in him before he even created the world. After his sermon, he said the sinner prayer and I said it too, on my knees in my living room.
