Acts 6:1-7

I. The Need for Service (v. 1-2, 4)

a. The church family has needs (v. 1)

b. The pastors cannot forsake their call to study and pray (v. 2, 4)

II. The Qualifications for Service (v. 3-5)

a. Reputable righteousness (v. 3; Proverbs 3:3-4)

b. Spirit-filled life (v. 3; Matthew 10:20; Acts 4:31; Acts 13:52)

c. Experienced wisdom (v. 3; Colossians 4:5-6)

d. Willingness to assist in serving (v. 4)

e. Filled with faith (v. 5)

III. The Commission for Service (v. 5-7)

a. Approval of the congregation through prayer (v. 5-6)

b. Approval of God through results (v. 7)
