Summary: There was a legion about that pool of water that an Angel went into the water and stirred it up and whoever was the first one to enter the water after the Angel stirred it would be healed of their disease.....

A pool of water called Bethesda

In John chapter 5 the Bible says that Jesus had came into Jerusalem ...He came by a pool of water called Bethesda ...

There was a legion about that pool of water that an Angel went into the water and stirred it up and whoever was the first one to enter the water after the Angel stirred it would be healed of their disease.....

The Bible also says there was a multitude of sick people around that pool everyday..waiting on an Angel to stur that water.....waiting to be heal....

Jesus came to a man who had been lame for 38 years

[John 5:6] When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?

Jesus ask him....in a sense...do you want to be made whole?

For years that man had kept his eyes on that pool of water...waiting and watching to be the first one in to be heal.

I believe that Jesus got this man's attention with such a question and his eyes off the pool because in verse ....

John 5:7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

What a sad story...this lame man waited time after time ...day after day..to get in the pool to be healed but, no one would help him

They would jump in front of him ...never help him.

This man was focused on the wrong thing....he was looking to the world for help.........he was looking to others to heal him.

He was waiting for something to happen

Then Jesus preformed a miracle...in verses

Joh 5:8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.

Joh 5:9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

Jesus preformed many miracles but, this was early in His ministry but....this is the one that started the religious leaders to hate Jesus and wanted to kill Him not because He wasn't who He said He was but, because He was who He said He was. But, they couldn't see it.

Jesus is the one whom we hear about in the Old Testament...coming to save the world from sin.

Every breath of the Bible points to one thing and that is Jesus Christ Son of God....our Saviour and only way to life eternal.

The Bible says that Jesus came to His own and His own received Him not.

Here in John chapter 5 it's the same story ...Jesus claims to be equal with God because they are in the same.

Jesus heals this man on the Sabbath and the religious leaders made it a crime to heal on that day.

Joh 5:18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

The only crime that Jesus ever made was a crime of passion for us.

For God so loved the world.

Something stuck out at me in this story...why did Jesus pick the one man out of a multitude? Because in verse 3 of John chapter 5

In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.

Why not everyone....why didn't Jesus go all around that pool of water and touch everyone and heal them.

That man was the only one who look to Jesus....everyone else was waiting on something to happen ....waiting on the water to be troubled.....waiting for the time to be right

Bible says that today is the day of salvation but, there are alot of Folks waiting on something to happen.

Waiting on the right time.....

Jesus goes to the temple and there is where He finds the man He just heals and

Joh 5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more,

Pretty simple....Jesus healed that man there at the pool of Bethesda and now He heal his soul and saves him

That who Jesus is...He is the healer ....body and soul....sin causes death...but, God heals all through Jesus.

Eph 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins:

Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Eph 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
