A PLACE BESIDE GOD

Exo 33:18 And he said, I beseech thee, show me thy glory.

Exo 33:19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.

Exo 33:20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

Exo 33:21 And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:

Exo 33:22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a cleft of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:

Exo 33:23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

Greatness of God

We cannot fathom the breadth, height, and width of God. You can go to the depth of

the sea, and far into the universe as possible and still we could not fathom God in all his

greatness. Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent

Though God is great and impossible to contain he reached down to the smallest of

men(MOSES). God did not show Moses all of himself for if he would have, Moses would

Probably lost his sight, the greatness of God no doubt would have fried his brain. We can

only contain was our small mind will contain and friend I assure you, you cannot contain

all of God. The Bible tells us that later Moses had to wear a veil over his face

because of the brightness that illuminated from his face, all from his

encounter with God.

A PLACE BESIDE ME

More or less God told Moses, that he would die if he beheld God but he must get in

the place that he had prepared for him, a place beside God.

Did you know that you and I cannot behold God in all his greatness? Not alone

anyway, you see we are not big enough to perceive God, we are unholy and unrighteous

as well and are not even worthy, but thanks be to God that he has prepared a place

beside him for you and I. Were is that place? God told Moses that it was on a Rock.

Who is the Rock? Jesus Christ!!!! Thank God we can stand on something firm and

established, I am talking about Jesus Christ a place that we can stand without falling and

faltering, a place that we can receive God, and commune with God.

Get into the cleft of the Rock. Did you know that God has made a way that you can

get into God? God has created a place beside him for you and Ito go and receive and

witness his glory. Jesus Christ. When you get into the cleft, the chief corner stone, the

rock of offence, the stone that the builders rejected then you can witness the glory of

God.

Mat 9:20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood, twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem his garment:

Mat 9:21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.

Mat 9:22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

Jesus was surrounded by people and surrounded by needs, and there in the crowd was a little woman with a issue, with a problem. You wonder sometimes if God in all of his greatness surrounded by so many voices crying out for help, some of them even in graver situations than yours, you wonder if he hears you. You wonder if you were to reach out if he would feel you or even care. The women stepped out and pushed through the crowd and the opposition and touched the hem of his garment, and found healing that day in the hem of the garment of God.

I want to tell you today friend that there is a place in the fabric and in the hem of the person of God, a place set aside for you, a place called Jesus Christ, and he that place beside God can only be reached in faith believing, but if you reach out and touch that place you will seek and find, you will knock and the door will be opened.

Illustration: I love my little boy, I want to give him the very best that I can give him, but sometimes because he is so small and I am so big in order to get my attention, to let me know he wants or needs something, he will pull on my pant leg and I will look down and grab him, lift him up to my level and ask him what can Daddy do for his boy today, and he ask me for whatever and if I can I will almost always give it to him.
