Explore the importance of inviting God into our daily lives, trusting Him, and understanding that He has equipped us to face any challenges that come our way.
Good morning, Church. Today, we're going to dive deep into Psalm 31:15. We're going to talk about inviting God into our lives, making room for Him, and the incredible blessings that come from allowing Him to be an integral part of our lives.
Tammy L. Kubasko once said, "Let go of what you think you know. Something amazing happens when you let God and trust."
Let's bow our heads and open our hearts in prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for bringing us together today. We ask that You open our hearts and minds to receive Your Word. Teach us to trust in You always and to make room for You in our lives. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Inviting God into our lives is not merely a one-time event, but rather a continuous, daily commitment. It's an invitation that extends to every corner of our lives - our thoughts, our actions, our relationships, our dreams, and even our struggles. It's about making God the center of our lives, not just a part of it.
Acknowledging our need for Him: We live in a world that often encourages self-reliance and independence. However, the truth is, we are finite beings with limitations. We need God's infinite wisdom, power, and love to navigate through life. Recognizing our need for God is the first step in inviting Him into our lives. It's about humbling ourselves before Him, admitting our weaknesses, and acknowledging that we can't do it alone.
Surrendering our will to Him: This is perhaps one of the most challenging aspects of inviting God into our lives. It's about letting go of our plans, our desires, and our control, and allowing God to lead us. It's about trusting that His plans for us are far better than anything we could ever imagine. Surrendering our will to God is not a sign of weakness, but rather a sign of strength. It's about recognizing that God's wisdom is far greater than ours, and His ways are far better than ours.
Seeking His presence daily: It's about spending time with Him in prayer, reading His Word, and listening to His voice. It's about seeking His guidance in every decision we make, and seeking His comfort in every trial we face. Inviting God into our lives is not about fitting Him into our schedule, but rather making Him our priority. It's about making time for Him, regardless of how busy we may be.
Obeying His commands: It's about living a life that is pleasing to Him. It's about striving to live a life of righteousness, even when it's difficult. It's about choosing to do what is right, even when it's not popular. Inviting God into our lives is not about following a set of rules, but rather about living a life of love, just as Jesus did.
Sharing Him with others: It's about being a light in a dark world. It's about sharing the love of God with those around us, and leading others to Him. Inviting God into our lives is not just about our personal relationship with Him, but also about our relationship with others. It's about being a vessel of God's love and grace in a world that desperately needs it.
Pastor, here would be a good place to share a personal story about inviting God into your life.
