Summary: This is the story of the amazing change that God can bring about in a man's life.

My friend told me this story about what his life was like before he met Christ.

He said that for years he had worked at a large defense plant near Dallas.

Headed home on Fridays, he would stop and buy his beer for the weekend.

His weekends consisted of heavy drinking. None of the family attended church.

That how he spent the weekends. Then something happened one day.

A bus ministry team invited his children to ride the church van to Sunday School.

The kids began to ride the church bus to church. Soon the kids got saved.

Then the kids began to “work on mom and dad” to go to church with them.

Before long, their mother started going to church. Soon she too trusted Christ.

Then she and the kids began to “work on dad” to go to church. He refused.

But they continued to pray for dad and to beg him to go to church with them.

The Holy Spirit began to work on him. Finally, he gave in and went to church.

Before long, he came under Holy Spirit conviction and trusted Christ as his Savior.

Now the whole family was saved, baptized and attending church regularly.

He said he was now a different person. He no longer wanted the alcohol.

He said he now loved the Lord and his life consisted of serving God and his family.

His life proves the teaching in 2 Corinthians 5:17. He had become a new person.

Let’s notice several things about the differences in my friend’s life.

I. He now had a love for the LORD.

I John 4:19

II. He now had a love for the CHURCH.

Psalms 122:1

III. He now had a love for the LOST.

I Corinthians 9:22

David Beaty penned this description of the difference that Jesus makes….

“Once I was lost in sin, I had no peace within,

To save my weary soul, I knew not how;

But Jesus came to me, and by his grace I'm free,

Now it's different, oh, so different now.”

If you need the Savior, you can trust the Lord Jesus now.

What a difference He will make in your life today!
