Psalm 68:4-6 A Message to the Fatherless

I. Our Father - There Is A Hero For The Helpless -

5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

A Refuge for the Orphan. "A father of the fatherless."

Psalms 27:10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.

2 Cors 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

A Respite for the Widow. "A judge of the widows."

A Restorer for the Family. "God setteth the solitary in families."

A Rescuer for the bound. "He bringeth out those which are bound with chains."

II. Our Family - There Is A Home For The Homeless -

III. Our Freedom - There Is A Hope For The Hopeless -

6 "He bringeth out those which are bound with chains"

1. Freedom from the Flesh - Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2. Freedom from Fault - John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

3. Freedom from Futility - Rom 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

4. Freedom from Fear - Rom 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

5. Freedom from Fluster -

1 Pet 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Phil 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

6. Freedom from Falsehood -

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free

8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

IV. Our Future - There Is A Hell For The Hostile -

6 but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

Psalm 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God
