A Man's Best Multi-Tool

A MAN’S BEST MULTI-TOOL-II Tim. 3:16-7, II Tim. 4:2, Heb. 4:12

Moses’ staff was a multi-tool for God’s use. God gave us a multi-tool-Bible. I have several types of multi-tools-show them.

1. KNIFE-cuts, separates, divides.

A. Conviction. Acts 2-”Cut to the heart-what do to be saved?”

B. Cut sin-Mt. 5:30-”If hand offend you, cut it off“.

Heb. Heb. 12:2-”throw off everything that hinders & the sin that so easily entangles”.

C. Prune spiritual waste-Mt. 3:10-Vines that don’t produce fruit are “cut off”.

2. PLIER-Compound force stronger than bare hands.

A. Hold onto God-Josh. 22:5-“Love God, walk in all His ways, obey His commands, Hold fast to Him and serve him with all your heart & soul”.

B. Don’t grasp power-Phil. 2:5-7-”Jesus didn’t consider equality with God something to be Grasped”. Rather, He held on to humility.

C. Grip Godliness-Phil. 3:12-”Take hold of that (salvation)…” I Thess. 5:21-”Hold on to the good”. I Tim. 6:12-”Take hold of eternal life”. Heb. 10:23-”Hold onto Hope”.

3. SCREWDRIVER TIGHTENS-bringing very diff things close together.

A. Human Relationships-Mt. 19:6-”What God has joined together, let no man separate“.

B. Spiritual Strength-Is. 35:3; Heb. 12:12-”Strengthen feeble arms, hands, and weak knees”.

I Cor. 1:25-”the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.” Jude 20-“build yourselves up in your most holy faith”.

4. SCREWDRIVER LOOSENS-Releases & removes what shouldn't be together.

A. God’s Work on earth-Mt. 18:18-”Whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven”.

B. Sin that sticks-Eph. 4:31-2-“Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, brawling, slander, along with every form of malice.“

C. Spirit of harshness-Eph. 6:4-“Fathers, don’t exasperate your children, instead bring them up in the training & instruction of the Lord“.

D. Urgencies that overwhelm

E. Grievances against others-Col. 3:13-“Bear with each other & forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another”.

4. TINY SCREWDRIVER-A small thing in the right place is invaluable

I Kings 19:12-”…And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire, and after the fire a still, small voice…” (KJ)

5. FILE-Removes rough edges. Is. 49:2-”…He made me into a polished arrow…”

6. TWEEZERS-Pluck tiny tormenting thorns.

Mt. 7:3-4-“Remove beam in your own eye before removing the speck in your brothers eye”

God allowed Paul’s “thorn in the flesh” (II Cor. 12:7-10).

7. LED LIGHT-A small light in large darkness reveals a great deal.

Ps. 119:105-”Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path”

Prov. 20:27-”The lamp of the Lord searches the spirit of a man, it searches out his inmost being”.

II Pt. 1:19-”You will do well to pay attention to the words of the prophets, as to a light shining in a dark place”.

8. HAMMER--Applies pressure at a precise point. Jer. 23:29-”Is not my Word like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?”

9. DURABILITY-Strong & long-lasting is better than quick & cheap.

Stainless steel-Durable, no-rust, long lasting.

A. Treasures, values of life-Matt. 6:20-21-”Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth & rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in & steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also”.

B. Body/Soul-Phil. 3:21b-”He will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body”.

C. Savior-“Jesus unchanging, same yesterday, today & forever”-Heb. 13:8

D. Bible-Mt. 24:35-“Heaven & earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away”, also Ps. 119:89, Is. 40:8, I Pt 1:25

10. AVAILABILITY-If it's not handy, it won't be used.

Ps. 119:11-“Thy Word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against Thee”.

Usefulness of multi-tool is proven over & over. Usefulness of God's tool is proven for ever & ever.
