This sermon emphasizes the constant presence, power, and permanence of Jesus in our lives, reminding us that God is intimately involved in every detail.
Good morning, beloved family of faith. It's a joy to gather together, isn't it? To share in the fellowship of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to bask in the warmth of His love, His grace, and His mercy. You see, our gathering today is not just a mere meeting, it's a celebration of the life we have in Christ, a joyous affirmation of His unending presence, His unparalleled power, and His unchanging permanence in our lives.
It's a truth we often need to be reminded of, isn't it? We get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, in the worries and woes of this world, that we sometimes forget the comforting constancy of Christ. But, dear friends, let's remember today and every day that we serve a God who is not distant or detached. No, our God is intimately involved in every detail of our lives.
The presence of Jesus in our lives is a profound reality that we often overlook. It's easy to forget, in the midst of our daily routines and responsibilities, that Jesus is right there with us, in every moment, in every circumstance. He is not a distant deity, observing us from afar. He is a close companion, walking with us, guiding us, comforting us, strengthening us.
This is a truth that we find throughout the Scriptures. In the Old Testament, we see God's presence with His people in the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night. In the New Testament, we see Jesus, God in the flesh, dwelling among His people. And in the book of Revelation, we see the promise of God's eternal presence with His people in the new heaven and the new earth.
But it's not just about God's presence with His people in general. It's about His presence with you, specifically. He knows you by name. He knows your thoughts, your feelings, your desires, your fears. He knows your past, your present, and your future. And He is with you, always.
The first aspect of Jesus' presence in our lives is His constant companionship. He is with us in the mundane moments and the monumental moments. He is with us in the joys and the sorrows, the victories and the defeats, the certainties and the uncertainties. He is with us when we wake up in the morning and when we go to bed at night. He is with us when we're surrounded by people and when we're all alone. He is with us in the silence and in the noise. He is with us, always.
The second aspect of Jesus' presence in our lives is His comforting presence. He is not just with us, He is for us. He is our advocate, our counselor, our comforter. He understands our weaknesses, our struggles, our temptations. He sympathizes with us in our sufferings. He comforts us in our afflictions. He gives us peace in the midst of our storms. He is with us, always.
The third aspect of Jesus' presence in our lives is His empowering presence. He is not just with us and for us, He is in us. He gives us the power to live the Christian life. He gives us the power to overcome sin and temptation. He gives us the power to love, to forgive, to serve, to sacrifice. He gives us the power to be witnesses for Him in the world. He is with us, always.
The fourth aspect of Jesus' presence in our lives is His transforming presence. He is not just with us, for us, and in us, He is changing us. He is making us more like Him. He is producing in us the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. He is refining us, purifying us, sanctifying us. He is preparing us for eternity with Him. He is with us, always.
As we continue to reflect on the words of Matthew 28:20, we are drawn to the power of Jesus in our lives ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
